In 2015, Teradyne (NASDAQ: TER) acquired Universal Robots for $285 million. Mark Jagiela, President and Chief Executive Officer of Teradyne, said the acquisition complements the company's systems and wireless inspection business and adds a strong growth platform for Teradyne.

Universal Robots' core product offering is a 6-axis tandem industrial robot, with two main types: UR5 and UR10. The UR5 weighs 18 kg, has a load of up to 5 kg and has a working radius of 85 cm. UR10 has a load of 10 kg and a working radius of 130 cm. The UR10 is able to achieve more functions to meet the automation needs of more customers. In line with the UR5's design philosophy, the UR10 is just as flexible, convenient, easy to install and easy to use.
