In the common DC bus system of multiple inverters, especially the common DC bus of inverters of different power levels, it is very important that the connection between the bus bars is maintained by fuses. When the power equipment of one inverter in the common bus is damaged by short circuit breakdown, the energy of the other inverter bus bars is discharged through the damaged inverter, which may exceed the fault current treatment ability of a single inverter, resulting in a safety accident.

The separation of the series fuse on the positive and negative bus can be useful to prevent further expansion of the fault and ensure the safety of the common bus. The rated voltage of the fuse should be more than 700VDC, and the rated current of the fuse is confirmed according to the rated output current of the connected inverter, and the rated current of the fuse is generally more than 2 times the rated output current of the inverter.

When a frequency converter in the common DC bus system is replaced, overhauled or damaged due to demand, it is necessary to consider how to disconnect a single frequency converter from the common bus system in order not to affect the normal operation of other frequency converters in the common DC bus system.
