Students in this major mainly learn the basic theory of precision instruments, optics, mechanics and electronics, the theory of measurement and control and the planning methods of measurement and control instruments, and are trained in modern measurement and calibration skills and instrument use, and have the ability to use the instrument system from planning and development in this specialty.

Students should acquire the following knowledge and talents:

(1) Have a solid foundation in natural sciences, a good foundation in humanities, arts and social sciences, and the ability to correctly reuse the expression of the Chinese language and writing;

(2) Systematically master the basic knowledge of the broad range of skills and theories in the major, mainly including mechanics, electronics, optics, measurement and control, market economy and enterprise management;

(3) Master the measurement and control skills and experimental research ability of the combination of optical, mechanical, electrical and computer, and have the planning and development ability of the professional measurement and control skills, instruments and systems;

(4) Have strong foreign language skills;

(5) Have strong self-learning ability, innovative understanding and high inductive quality.

The courses for undergraduate students majoring in "Measurement and Control Skills and Instruments" are divided into three parts: public foundation courses, professional foundation courses and professional courses. Similar to other engineering majors, the public foundation courses and professional courses mainly include precision machinery and instrument planning, precision machinery manufacturing engineering, imitation electronic skills, digital electronic skills, microcomputer principles and use, control process foundation, signal analysis and processing, precision measurement and control system, engineering optics, etc.
