How it works

Contactor refers to an electrical appliance that uses a coil to flow through an electric current to generate a magnetic field, so that the contact is closed, and then the load can be controlled. Because it can quickly block the main circuit and frequently connect with high-current control circuits, it has been widely used in electrical engineering.

Contactors can be divided into DC contactors and communication contactors according to the way the main contact connection loop. In the meantime, the DC contactor adopts a modular design, and strives to meet customer requirements with the smallest number of parts, such as the required number of contact channels, contact methods, etc. The DC contactor contact has a high breaking voltage, and the horizontal blowing magnetic field arc extinguishing is selected, which is suitable for program-controlled power supply, uninterruptible power supply system, construction machinery system, etc.

Contactors can be divided into electromagnetic contactors and permanent magnet contactors according to the operation organization. In the meantime, the permanent magnet contactor uses the same sex repulsion of the magnetic pole, which is a kind of micro-power contactor formed by using the permanent magnet drive organization instead of the traditional electromagnet drive organization, and there are many such mature products in China

The communication contactor mainly consists of four parts: electromagnetic system, contact system, arc extinguishing equipment and other accessories. In the meantime, the electromagnetic system includes an attraction coil, a static iron core and a moving iron core; The contact system is connected with the moving iron core and linked with each other, mainly including three groups of main contacts and one or two groups of normally open and normally closed auxiliary contacts; The arc extinguishing equipment is used to quickly block the power supply and avoid burning out the main contact, and is often installed in the communication contactor with large capacity; In addition to the above three parts, the communication contactor also contains an insulating shell, a variety of tension springs, conveyors, binding posts and other accessories.

When the coil is energized, the static iron core generates electromagnetic attraction, so that the moving iron core is engaged, thereby driving the three moving contacts of the contact system to produce action, the main contact is closed, the auxiliary normally closed contact is disconnected, and the auxiliary normally open contact is closed and the power supply is connected.

When the coil is de-energized, the electromagnetic attraction of the static iron core disappears, and the reaction force of the tension spring separates the moving iron core from the static iron core.
