Photoelectric sensors

A photoelectric sensor is a device that converts an optical signal into an electrical signal. Its working principle is based on the photoelectric effect. The photoelectric effect refers to the phenomenon that when light hits some substance, the electrons of the substance absorb the energy of the photons, and the corresponding electrical effect occurs. According to the different photoelectric effect phenomena, the photoelectric effect can be divided into three categories: external photoelectric effect, internal photoelectric effect and photogenerated volt effect.

Infrared sensor

Infrared sensor is a kind of sensor that uses infrared rays to process data, which has the advantages of high sensitivity, and the infrared sensor can control the operation of the driving device. Infrared sensors are commonly used for non-contact temperature measurement, gas composition analysis, and non-destructive testing, and are widely used in medical, military, space technology, and environmental engineering. For example, thermal imaging of the surface temperature of the human body using an infrared sensor to measure the surface temperature of the human body from a distance can detect abnormal temperatures.

The difference between photoelectric sensors and infrared sensors

1. The principle of photoelectric sensors is to convert optical signals into electrical signals by using components that are sensitive to optical signals.

2. The function of the sensor is to convert one signal mode into another signal mode, such as a pressure sensor, which converts the pressure into an electrical signal, and similarly, the infrared sensor and photoelectric sensor convert the infrared signal and the optical signal into an electrical signal;

3. Infrared sensor is a kind of photoelectric sensor, and the light in the photoelectric sensor refers to infrared, visible light and ultraviolet light, all of which belong to electromagnetic waves, and the difference lies in their wavelength; Infrared is an electromagnetic wave with a wavelength of 0.76um to 1000um, visible light with a wavelength range of 0.14um to 0.76um, and ultraviolet light with a wavelength of less than 0.14um.
