With the rapid development of "Made in China" to "Made in China", intelligent equipment and other technologies have been widely used in various fields, among which the degree of intelligence in steel structure construction is also getting higher and higher.

In the intelligent construction of steel structures, welding and spraying are indispensable process links, among which the automotive industry is a more mature intelligent industry.

The complex steel structure field of medium and heavy plate includes shipbuilding, marine engineering, construction machinery, bridges, construction, nuclear power, wind power, pipelines, boilers, pressure vessels and other industries because of its wide coverage, complex and changeable application scenarios, many structural special-shaped parts, and relatively high automation difficulty, but the increasing maturity of robotics and sensor technology has also accelerated the development of automation in this field.

LMS4000 LiDAR

LMS4000 is a two-dimensional lidar based on frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW), with an angle range of 70°, a range of 0.5-5.5m, and millimeter-level distance accuracy, a high frequency of 600Hz, and an angular resolution of 0.0833°, which is quite advantageous in dynamic 3D scanning applications requiring millimeter-level accuracy.

1. Application scheme

LMS4000 LiDAR is a 2D scanner with visible red light, which installs the radar on the gantry, and then expands the 2D scanning into 3D scanning through the movement of the gantry or assembly line to obtain the 3D contour point cloud data of the steel structure, and then identifies the workpiece type, feature extraction, trajectory finding, workpiece alignment and positioning, etc., and then guides the robot to weld and spray.

2. Customers benefit

● LiDAR is an integrated laser transceiver, red can be light-excited, no additional light source is required, and the installation is simple;

● 5.5m distance +70° large field of view, at the same time, data splicing is simple, and the field of view can be expanded by increasing the number of radars, which can adapt to the scanning requirements of large workpieces and multiple workpieces.

● Simple data processing, millimeter-level distance accuracy + high angular resolution to ensure high-quality 3D point cloud data, and realize the adaptation of different sizes according to the actual 3D contour features.

● The scanning frequency of 600Hz achieves a sampling interval of about 3mm at the scanning speed of 2m/s, which ensures the point cloud density under high-speed dynamics, and has higher redundancy for the working cycle.
