The new chart showcases some of the most exciting innovations in ABB's AbilityTM portfolio of digital solutions
The article by ABB experts examines key use cases for the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) to enable better decision-making at scale
Readers are invited to provide feedback on the journal's future editorial direction
ABB today published the 2/2022 edition of ABB Review, the company's technical journal. The ABB Review has been continuously published since 1914, making it one of the longest-running corporate journals of all genres. As a source of technical inspiration and education, ABB Review showcases some of the company's most cutting-edge innovations across technology across numerous commercial and industrial environments, shedding light on key technology trends and topics for ABB researchers, engineers and technologists. Recent releases cover topics such as logistics, assets and connectivity, and smart machines.
The focus of the new phase is the ABB Ability solution portfolio, which includes more than 170 IIoT products from ABB to serve commercial and industrial customers in a variety of environments. ABB Ability combines software innovation with connectivity to help the company's customers make billions of better decisions across the enterprise to increase productivity, increase agility and reduce emissions. Some of the stories in the new edition of the journal relate to the role of the Industrial Internet of Things in improving maritime navigation, water management, asset performance management, and energy efficiency.
"I'm delighted that this quarter's ABB Review focuses on all aspects of ABB Ability," ABB CEO Björn Rosengren wrote at the beginning of this issue. "Whether it's enabling more autonomous operations in ocean-going vessels, unlocking the potential of digital switchgear and real-time energy management, or using machine learning and edge-based analytics to optimize performance in asset-intensive industries, ABB Ability solutions are driving new ways to work for safer, smarter and more sustainable operations."
Although ABB Review is one of the longest-running corporate technology magazines in the world, it is constantly evolving and adapting to meet the needs of a wide range of readers. For example, a few years ago, the editorial staff of The Review updated the look and feel of the journal with easier to read story presentations, engaging graphics, and strong visuals. Now, the team is once again focusing on how the needs and preferences of today's readers have changed. Do they want to receive ABB reviews more often? Do they prefer to read online or in print? Are there any topics of particular interest to readers? To better understand this changing landscape, we invite readers to complete a short survey to help guide editorial decisions for future ABB reviews.
