Leading refrigeration equipment and component manufacturers have partnered with Honeywell to accelerate the adoption of non-combustible, low-GWP refrigerants in HVAC

Meet the Kigali Amendment's requirement to reduce hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in a phased manner

Shanghai, China, November 23, 2021 – Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) announced that it will join forces with Zhejiang DunAn Artificial Environment Co., Ltd. ("DunAn Environment"), a leading global manufacturer of refrigeration equipment and components, to promote the use of low-GWP Solstice® N41 (R-466A) refrigerant in the HVAC industry.

Honeywell Solstice® N41 (R-466A) is the industry's first A1-classified, non-flammable, low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant that replaces R-410A in stationary air conditioning systems and reduces global warming impact by 65%.

The <蒙特利尔议定书>Kigali Amendment includes hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming, and sets a timetable for reductions. With the amendment officially coming into effect in China in September 2021, many domestic manufacturers of air conditioning and refrigeration accessories are actively looking for reliable alternative solutions to reduce HFCs in stages, and respond to China's "dual carbon" goal of achieving carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060.

The Solstice® N41 provides contractors and customers with the same level of security as the R-410A. Other potential alternatives to R-410A may increase the risk due to its 2L (Low Flammability) rating and may require changes to safety standards, building codes, and equipment production lines for OEMs.

More than 15 OEMs and leading compressor manufacturers have tested the Solstice® N41 for more than 100,000 hours in a variety of applications, including commercial air conditioners (multi-unit, rooftop) and residential air conditioners (unitary).
