The use of robots that can exchange things requires high-speed movement and fast rotation. Conventional solutions for energy chains or slip rings lack the necessary flexibility with regard to this automation technology. Our Wireless Sensing System (WIS) responds to these challenges by enabling a touchless connection where a fixed connection is not possible.
The new WIS 2 series offers a winning feature of up to 12 watts of transmission power. The spacing of up to 7 mm between the main and secondary emitters provides significant forgiveness for axial misalignment.
Wirelessly transmit power and signals
The wireless sensing system works on the principle of inductive coupling and consists of a primary transmitter and a secondary transmitter. For the purpose of energy transfer, on the side of the main transmitter, an induced alternating magnetic field occurs. When a secondary circuit enters this field, it transmits enough energy to operate industrial sensors, such as inductive, photoelectric or capacitive sensors mounted directly on moving machine parts. The signal condition of the sensor is transmitted to the main transmitter side via individual transmission pulses, and the signal condition is supplied to the control system.
Possibilities and flexibility for multiple applications
Depending on the application, for smaller applications, the user can choose between a 2-channel WIS 2 variety, or an extended 8-channel variety, which offers an 8-channel adapter box that can operate up to 8 sensors together. For greater flexibility, primary and secondary devices can be swapped without pairing. A single 2-channel primary device can be used with multiple 2-channel secondary devices. With an IP67 rating and a temperature range of -20°C to +55°C, WIS 2 enables safe and reliable connection in harsh environments.
Highlights at a glance
*Optimized function for up to 12 watts of transmission power
- Wider axial offset tolerances up to 7 mm transmission intervals
*Compact 2-channel and extended 8-channel variants for a wide range of possibilities and flexibility
*The primary and secondary transmitters do not need to be paired and can be swapped

How to install the safety barrier
1. The safety barrier should be installed in a safe place, and the environmental conditions meet the requirements of "application conditions" in the "Safety Barrier Selection Sample".
2. The connecting wires of the intrinsically safe end (blue end) and non-intrinsically safe end circuits of the barrier safety barrier should be laid separately in the wiring slot.

Single receiver and multiple receiver for photoelectric sensors
Photoelectric sensors are generally composed of three parts: transmitter, receiver and detection circuit, and its operating principle is to first convert the measured change into the change of the optical signal, and then convert the change of the optical signal into the change of the electrical signal (this part is called the "photoelectric effect"). According to the detection method, it is not ...

Static and dynamic characteristics of sensors – we are blessed
1. Static characteristics of the sensor
The static characteristics of a sensor are related to the static input signal, the output and input of the sensor. Since the input and output are moment-independent at this point, the connection between them (i.e., the static properties of the sensor) can be used in an algebraic equation without time variables.

How to deal with the malfunction of the proximity sensor during work
What is the reason for the detection signal when no metal object is close to the switch?
The magnitude of the electromagnetically induced voltage is proportional to the current of the disturbance source, that is, the larger the disturbance current, the greater the disturbance voltage. If the proximity switch does not adopt any ...

Introducing encoders
The rotary encoder is an opto-mechatronic speed-displacement sensor. When the encoder shaft rotates and the grating disc rotates, the light cut out of the slit of the grating disc is received by the receiving element and an initial signal is generated. Germany is a well-known brand. The signal is reacted to by a follow-up circuit ...
