ABB offers profiling software and services that combine operational data with engineering and IT data to deliver actionable intelligence
The ABB Ability™ Genix Industrial Profiling and AI Suite is a scalable, high-end profiling channel with pre-built, easy-to-use applications and services. It collects, correlates and transforms operations, engineering, and information skills data into actionable insights that help careers improve operations, optimize property, and streamline transactions safely and sustainably.
Profiling studies have shown that industrial companies typically only use only 20%¹ of the data they generate, severely limiting their ability to meaningfully apply data profiling. ABB's new solution operates as a digital data convergence point, contextualizing the flow of information from different sources in factories and enterprises through a consistent profiling model. The use of AI on this data provides meaningful insights for guessing and optimization, which in turn improves transaction performance.
Peter Terwiesch, President of ABB Industrial Automation, explains: "We believe that the place to start the journey of data profiling in process, dynamics and hybrid careers is to build on existing digital skills – the automation that controls the production process. "By combining this with engineering and information skills data for multi-dimensional resolution initiatives, we see a huge opportunity for our customers to make better use of operational data. This new approach will help our customers plan for billions of better resolutions. ”
ABB Ability™ Genix is comprised of data profiling channels and processes, complemented by ABB services, that help clients determine what property, process and risk profiles can be improved, and help them plan and apply these profilings. With a library of applications, customers can subscribe to a variety of profiling on demand, speeding up the process of traditional requests and scheduling vendor support based on transaction needs.
ABB Ability™ Genix scales from the factory to the enterprise and supports a variety of deployments, including cloud, hybrid and on-premises. ABB Ability™ Genix uses Microsoft Azure to integrate cloud connectivity and services through ABB's strategic partnership with Microsoft.
Rajesh Ramachandran, Chief Digital Officer, ABB Industrial Automation, said: "ABB's Ability™ Genix suite brings unique value by unlocking the inductive power of data, domain knowledge, skills and artificial intelligence. "ABB Ability™ Genix helps property-intensive producers with complex processes make timely and accurate resolution plans through in-depth analysis and optimization of the entire plant and enterprise.
"We have planned this modular and flexible suite so that customers at different stages of their digital journey can choose ABB Ability™ Genix to accelerate transaction results and maintain existing investments together."
A key component of ABB Ability™ Genix is the ABB Ability™ Edgenius Operational Data Processor, which connects, collects and dissects operational skills data at the point of production. ABB Ability™ Edgenius uses data generated by operational skills, such as DCS and equipment, to dissect and then improve production processes and material utilization. ABB Ability™ Edgenius can be deployed on its own or integrated with ABB Ability™ Genix to combine operational data with other data for strategic transaction profiling.
"The data generated by the automation of real-time production is of great value," says Bernhard Eschermann, Chief Skills Officer at ABB Industrial Automation. "With ABB Ability™ Edgenius, we're able to extract data from these real-time control systems and use it to guess problems and make action plans that help us make better use of our money and fine-tune our production processes."
