• Honeywell introduces Signify lighting systems and software into its Healthy Building solutions to improve building occupant experience, productivity and well-being

Atlanta, United States and Eindhoven, Netherlands, January 6, 2021 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON), a leading global provider of connected building solutions, and Signify (Euronext: LIGHT, Amsterdam), a global provider of lighting solutions, announced a strategic alliance agreement to deploy integrated smart lighting solutions for commercial buildings that improve building occupant productivity and satisfaction while reducing energy consumption.
The collaboration integrates Signify's Interact connected lighting system and software and UV-C disinfection lamps with Honeywell's building management system and Honeywell's connected enterprise performance management platform to manage energy consumption while monitoring building utilization and air quality metrics such as temperature and humidity. Starting in early 2021, Signify's lighting solutions* will complement Honeywell's Healthy Building Air Quality solutions, which can be controlled, measured, and monitored through the Healthy Building Dashboard, keeping track of air quality and surface cleanliness compliance and metrics.
To improve building occupant productivity and satisfaction, Signify will also offer user-friendly lighting solutions such as NatureConnect and UV-C disinfection lamps. UV-C irradiation can destroy the DNA or RNA of microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria to achieve a disinfection effect. Laboratory tests have shown that Signify's UV-C light source reduces the infectivity of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on surfaces to less than detectable levels in as little as 9 seconds1.
In addition, building owners and operators can better manage their lighting systems and energy efficiency with smart LED lighting systems. According to the United States Commercial Building Energy Consumption Statistical Database2, lighting is the largest electricity consumer in commercial buildings, accounting for 17% of the total electricity consumption of United States commercial buildings. Electricity consumption ratios around the world are similar3.
Signify's connected LED lighting system, Interact Office, can save up to 70% on lighting energy consumption4, and Honeywell's advanced building control and sensing systems can help facilities save up to 30% on energy costs5.

Integrated building and lighting systems help eye clinics in Malaysia improve patient experience
Honeywell is working with Signify to deploy integrated products for OPTIMAX Eye Specialists, a leading ophthalmic chain in Malaysia, to improve air quality and surface disinfection.
