Important security measures

The factory setting of the product does not necessarily provide perfect protection. In order to ensure safety, please read the following when installing the product and configure the necessary configuration for your operating environment.

1. Administrator code

We strongly recommend that you set an admin password on your product.

If you do not set an admin password, or the default factory admin password, your product settings and network settings may be accessed by unauthorized users, and personal data and confidential information, such as usernames, passwords, and contacts, may be altered or stolen.

2. Connect to the Internet

Please install the product on a network protected by a firewall, wireless router or other non-direct network method, we recommend setting and using a private IP address, and an Internet firewall (router)

Our web products include an administrative interface, such as a web management interface. Epson conducts gap testing to provide a seamless product. However, products that connect directly to the Internet still face unforeseen security threats, such as unauthorized use and information leakage.

3. Wireless LAN (LAN)

The advantage of a wireless LAN is that it can be easily connected to the network as long as it is within the signal range, and printing operations can be performed from a computer or smartphone. On the other hand, if you don't set up your security properly, you may be attacked by a third party who will try to intercept your communications and your identity information. Therefore, when using a Wi-Fi network, enable the security measures of the Wi-Fi network appropriately.
