Shanghai, China – On August 29, 2019, Eaton, a global power management company, was unveiled at the 2nd Asian Women Leaders Summit 2019 in China. It is a regional event dedicated to elevating the status of women leaders in the business environment. This year's summit brought together senior business leaders and industry experts to discuss how to accelerate gender equality in the workplace.
Cally Wu, Vice President of Human Resources, Asia Pacific, Eaton, attended the summit with a number of company representatives and was one of the speakers in the roundtable session on "Managing the Female Leadership Talent Pipeline – Are Companies Really Investing in the Talent Pipeline" to discuss this topic with HR senior professionals and business leaders from other global multinational companies, including Dell and 3M. Cally shared Eaton's efforts as a model of inclusion and diversity, highlighted Eaton's initiatives and practices in the workplace to continuously support diverse talent pipelines, and joined other panelists to showcase the many efforts of different corporate structures to address gender differences and develop women's leadership.
Building on her years of expertise in human resources, Cally emphasized that the management structure and the corresponding diversity strategy play a key role in building a sense of belonging in Eaton's efforts to promote inclusion and diversity, even though Eaton is in a traditionally male-dominated industry. It's also an important step that sets Eaton apart from the crowd. In addition, it added, "While Eaton has been practicing inclusion and diversity for many years, we still have a lot of work to do."
"Promoting women's development and empowering female talent to achieve industry leadership is not a change for Eaton, but a continuous improvement." When asked what kind of change she would like to see in women's leadership, Cally said, "I'm proud to say that inclusion and diversity are Eaton's strengths.
