Jiangtian Data Huanjing Big Data Industry Tianjin Base has the overall planning of 8 green and energy-saving giant data centers, with a total construction area of 339,000 square meters, and can deploy 40,000 6kW standard cabinets. After completion, the base will become a highly competitive data center park in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei hub node.
After a lot of detailed investigation, research and simulation, the No. 1 data center adopts the energy-efficient Eaton high-end series 93PR uninterruptible power supply as an important part of its power distribution system.
In a highly competitive market environment, IDC data centers must pay special attention to energy efficiency and economics in order to achieve greater growth. Based on actual needs, Jiangtian Data requires UPS products to have high reliability, high energy efficiency, and low-carbon energy saving, so as to reduce TCO in the life cycle.

01A number of energy-saving technologies
Contribute to a PUE < 1.25
Minimizing PUE is a key factor in the planning and design of data centers, and it is necessary to select the appropriate power supply architecture route according to local conditions. In addition to the traditional double-conversion mode of power efficiency, the 93PR UPS also incorporates a number of Eaton's advanced technologies and innovative energy-saving power modes to achieve a maximum system efficiency of 99%.
Eaton's unique and innovative AC Direct Supply System, ESS, allows the UPS to switch to different modes depending on the input power:
Under good conditions, the mains power supply directly to the load through the static bypass, and realizes the "zero-level conversion" with no conversion link, achieving up to 99% efficiency of the whole machine.
When the mains power exceeds the limit or fails, the UPS switches from static bypass to inverter mode, with a typical switching time of 0-2ms, which fully meets the requirements of Jiangtian Data No. 1 Data Center for high efficiency, energy saving and high reliability of the power supply system.
Intelligent Variable Module Hibernation (VMMS) technology can hibernate a portion of the UPS module when the UPS system is under light load, so as to reduce energy consumption and achieve reasonable allocation of UPM in double conversion mode. On the basis of comprehensively ensuring the high safety and reliability of the equipment itself, the performance and efficiency of the UPS are greatly improved, saving a lot of energy consumption from the energy supply side and reducing the PUE value of the data center.

With advanced design concepts, 93PR UPS is perfectly adapted to the lithium battery system, and realizes the intelligent operation of the lithium battery UPS through full-link communication management. UPS monitors the data of the lithium battery cabinet in real time, optimizes charging management, and cooperates with the battery BMS system to ensure the safety of the system with double insurance. The lithium battery system adopts a highly reliable lithium iron phosphate battery module, three-level BMS all-weather safety monitoring, and full-link multi-communication protocol support, while the traditional lead-acid battery has the characteristics of small size, light weight, high power density, long life, high cycle and environmental friendliness, and 93PR UPS can meet the needs of customers for more than 10 years of safe power backup, TCO reduction and data center energy transition.
The Eaton 93PR UPS can also be upgraded with the Energy Aware energy storage kit, which allows the UPS to safely reserve power while giving full play to the advantages of high-cycle charging and discharging of lithium batteries, with energy storage functions such as timed charging and discharging, anti-peak capacity increase, peak shaving and valley filling. Combined with UPS AC direct supply, HRS active compensation and Energy Aware Plus technology, it provides strong support for data centers to be green and efficient, energy saving and emission reduction, and energy transition, and also provides the best case for large-scale deployment in the future.
