Panasonic opens a new equipment plant in Shunde, China

Panasonic Corporation announced today that Panasonic Ecosystem Co., Ltd. (PES) and Panasonic Ecosystem Guangdong Co., Ltd. have produced the Shunde Bangshou Branch, a new plant for indoor air quality equipment such as retractable ventilator systems*2 and air purifiers, which began operation and shipment today in Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, China. This is the second factory in our country for this product category. It plans to produce 120,000 energy recovery ventilator systems in the current fiscal year and 200,000 units in fiscal 2023.

　　Over the past few years, there has been an increasing demand for ventilation fans, energy recovery ventilator systems, air purifiers, and other related products as the global interest in air quality, including ventilation and disinfection. Although PES has been producing these indoor air quality-related products at its Shunde plant in China, it began construction of a new plant in July 2020 to meet the meagre demand.

Located adjacent to the currently operating Shunde plant, the Shunde Bangshou branch has a total of three floors, covering an area of 51,874 m2 and a total construction area of 43,304 m2. The plant plans to expand production of the "Liuheng Air Circulation System" (a new indoor air quality system that integrates humidification, dehumidification, and air conditioning functions) and a water purification system in FY2022 by FY2023

The products manufactured will not only be shipped to destinations in Japan, but will also be exported to other countries in Asia, the Middle East, North America and Japan, thus becoming a global production base.

An energy-saving air-conditioning system has been introduced at the new plant, and in order to accelerate Panasonic's eco-friendly efforts, the plant will further utilize renewable power (solar power generation and fuel cells) and promote power visualization.

Founded in 1993, Panasonic Ecosystem Guangdong Co., Ltd. is a major overseas production base for indoor air quality equipment such as ventilation systems, air purifiers, and bathhouse dryers. It also integrates development and sales functions, and has achieved the largest market share of China's *3 energy recovery ventilator system.

With the commissioning of the top branch plant in Shunde, PES will supply products to China and even the world, providing new value for air and water.
