Because the waters are intersected and connected, the waste discharged by each country and region is concentrated in the deep sea, and marine garbage has long become a global problem. Most of the marine debris is concentrated in five uninhabited areas, each in the equatorial windless belt of the Chinese Pacific, the Bay of Biscay and the India Ocean. Among them, the world's largest "Great Pacific Waste Belt" block, where nearly 80,000 tons of waste are floating! What is even more unimaginable is that in the high-density areas of the "Great Pacific Waste Belt", there are 480,000 pieces of plastic per square kilometer!
Knowing this, Fuji Electric (China) locked in the promotion of deep-sea environmental protection when formulating the CSR theme activity for 19 years. Golden Beach Scenic Area has extremely rich natural animal and plant resources and excellent ecological environment, and has been rated as a provincial wetland park in Jiangsu Province for 17 years. In the tourist attraction, there are often a variety of birds and birds inhabiting.
The tourist attraction is located in the easternmost part of Jiangsu, is the Yangtze River Delta region at the beginning of the sun rising area, visitors come here to enjoy the rising sun, every time the sun rises, the sun shines on the beach reflects the rays of thousands of zhang, as if covered with purple clouds, "golden beach" thus got its name. According to the communication with the staff of the Golden Beach in Qidong, Jiangsu, although the Golden Beach Scenic Area has been kept clean and tidy, due to the high tide and low tide of the beach, there are still many marine garbage washed on the beach, which adds a lot of pressure to the staff of the tourist attraction.
In June, Fuji Electric (China) joined hands with Qidong Golden Beach staff and youth volunteers from outside the company to carry out a two-day "Qidong Golden Beach Environmental Protection Activity"!
Styrofoam washed ashore, balloons left by tourists... Themed event crews walked up the shore to pick up marine debris scattered on the beach. If the marine debris washed into the sea is not removed immediately, it will be difficult to solve the problem by burying the waste with fine sand after repeated high and low tides. Especially when encountering non-biodegradable plastic waste, if not properly disposed of, it may cause great harm to the natural environment. Therefore, in such a situation, the theme event staff also did their best to remove the garbage that could be removed.
The problem of marine litter has long become a problem of great concern to society today, and it threatens the earth that is indispensable to everyone. The waste picked up by this CSR campaign may be a drop in the ocean of marine debris, but as the deep-sea adventurer Robert Swan often says, "The biggest threat to the planet is the belief that someone else will come to rescue it." "Start with yourself, start with the simple chores around you. Even if it's picking up the waste next to you or sorting and recycling... Believe that every step of your diligence is not easy to consume and will be able to be seen in the future.
Even though the two days of summer were scorching, everyone was still passionate. After experiencing environmental protection activities firsthand, everyone realized a deep sense of mission as a "global citizen". Fuji Electric (China) will also carry out CSR environmental protection activities again. I look forward to a large number of friends who will be able to participate in it, let us dedicate our energy to the natural environment of social development and its sustainable development concept!
