In recent years, equipment such as machine tools and transfer and conveying equipment are developing in the direction of automation at the production site, and in order to further improve the production power, it is necessary to ensure more stable and high-speed equipment control.
In addition, the production site is facing a labor shortage, and how to improve the power of equipment maintenance work has become an issue to be solved.
This time, our company has greatly upgraded the main model of general-purpose inverters, the "FRENIC-MEGA series", and completed the high-level echo characteristics of the profession. In addition, the predictive maintenance function of the inverter has been further strengthened. The product will be supplied to the global market, mainly in China and Japan.

In the case of a metalworking machine, for example, a motor rotates the target at high speed and simultaneously cuts it. During the machining process, the inverter will adjust the speed of the motor according to the shape and hardness of the target object to complete accurate machining, but the impact that occurs during the processing process will cause uneven speed, which will lead to quality defects or unstable quality.
The product launched by our company has reached a high level in terms of response characteristics, during which the current response has improved to 1,000Hz and the speed response has improved to 200Hz (about 2 of our previous products).

We give full play to our advantages as a power semiconductor manufacturer, and add two functions to the product, one is the "life prediction function", which can monitor the output current and output frequency of the IGBT module (power semiconductor), the core component of the inverter, and announce an alarm for abnormal omen; The other is the "Cooling Capacity Drop Alarm" function, which can detect the signs of a decrease in the cooling capacity of the inverter in time. These two functions will help on-site operators to draw up maintenance plans and avoid sudden shutdown of equipment. In addition, a "traceability function" has been added, which allows the output voltage and output waveform at the last moment before the abnormality occurs in the event of an abnormality in the motor. This function shortens the time it takes to find the cause of equipment failures and helps to reduce the burden of maintenance work.
(3) Transform the cooling organization to further complete the miniaturization and energy saving of the equipment
The inverter is usually built into the housing (disk), but in order to avoid failure, it is necessary to find a way to dissipate the heat generated by the inverter. A common approach is to install a cooling system such as a fan and a heat exchanger in the panel. However, from the point of view of space and energy savings, this approach is not advantageous. So a kind of disk external cooling method came into people's field of vision. This method is to change the cooling fan part of the inverter (main cooling unit) outside the disc body, and the heat emitted by the inverter is directly discharged out of the disc. This method eliminates the need for a separate cooling system, which reduces the size of the disc and reduces power consumption. However, the main cooling unit is susceptible to external conditions such as dust and moisture, and is very picky about the installation site.
For this reason, we have selected the waterproof and dustproof standard "IP55"* for the main cooling unit. As a result, even under harsh environmental conditions, the external cooling of the disc can be used for heat dissipation. This will then contribute to further downsizing and energy saving of the equipment.
