Rexroth builds a new plant in Querétaro, Mexico

Bosch Rexroth, a leading global supplier of drive and control technology, is building a new plant in Querétaro, Mexico, and will further strengthen its presence in North America. Bosch Rexroth has been successfully operating in Mexico for 40 years. From the summer of 2023, Querétaro's local production capacity for mobile products and components, as well as factory automation products, will be increased, and there is still room for further growth. Bosch Rexroth will invest around 160 million euros in the construction of a new plant aimed at strengthening its local production capacity for the North American market in order to provide customers with better and more efficient services.

Bosch Rexroth's North American operations began in 1967 and employ approximately 2,200 people in the United States and Canada, and approximately 170 in Mexico. The new plant in Querétaro covers an area of approximately 42,000 square meters and will be completed by mid-2023. After commissioning in 2027, the company plans to employ more than 900 people. Querétaro's mobile machinery and factory automation products are mainly exported to the United States and Canada. In addition to the new plant at Bosch Rexroth, Bosch Mexico has made a series of additional investment announcements in recent months.

Greg Gumbs, CEO of Bosch Rexroth North America, said: "We saw great potential in the North American mobile market, for example in the field of agricultural or construction machinery, and therefore decided to produce the corresponding components for this market, such as hydraulic pumps. In line with the principle of "Rooted Locally, Serving Local", we will further strengthen the existing capacity of the Fontaine Mobile Hydraulics manufacturing facility in South Carolina. We will promote the development of products for the electrification of mobile machinery and related software. As a hub for the North American mobile hydraulics business, Fontyne will have a stronger production capacity and be better able to meet customer needs. The opening of the new plant in Querétaro will further increase our production capacity. ”

In addition, Bosch Rexroth wants to increase its market share of factory automation products in North America. The corresponding production capacity of Querétaro combined with Charlotte's existing Linear Technology Customization Center allows for the highest quality service to customers in North America.
