The high-voltage circuit breaker (or high-voltage switch) is the primary power control equipment of the substation, which has arc extinguishing characteristics. When the system is in normal operation, it can intercept and connect the no-load and load currents of lines and various electrical equipment. When there is a problem in the system, it can quickly block the fault current with the cooperation of relay maintenance to prevent the expansion of the incident.
The barrier switch does not have an arc extinguishing device. Although the regulations stipulate that the load current is less than 5A, it cannot be operated with a load. However, the structure of the barrier switch is simple, and its operation status can be seen at a glance from the appearance, and there are significant circuit breaks during maintenance.
Delixi circuit breaker is called "switch" in use, and the barrier switch is called "knife switch" in use, and the two are often used in combination. High voltage circuit breakers and barrier switches, the differences between them are as follows:
1) The high-voltage load switch can be broken with load, and has the function of self-extinguishing arc, but the breaking ability is very small and limited.
2) Generally, the high-voltage barrier switch cannot be disconnected with load. There is no arc extinguishing cover in the structure, and there is also a high-voltage barrier switch that can disconnect the load, but the structure is different from the load switch, and it is relatively simple.
3) Both the high-voltage load switch and the high-voltage barrier switch can form a significant disconnect point. Most of the high-voltage circuit breakers do not have a blocking function, and a few high-voltage circuit breakers have a blocking function.
4) The high-voltage barrier switch does not have the maintenance function, and the maintenance of the high-voltage load switch is generally equipped with fuse maintenance, and there is only quick break and overcurrent.
5) The breaking ability of the high-voltage circuit breaker can be done very high in the production process. It mainly relies on the current transformer with secondary equipment for maintenance. It can have the functions of short-circuit maintenance, overload maintenance, leakage maintenance and so on.
