The capacity selection of the inverter is based on the rated power of the motor
Myth: The capacity selection of the inverter is based on the rated power of the motor
Compared with the motor, the price of the variable frequency governor is more expensive, so it is very meaningful to reasonably reduce the capacity of the variable frequency governor under the premise of ensuring safe and reliable operation.
The power of the inverter governor refers to the power of the 4-pole AC asynchronous motor to which it is applicable.
Due to the same capacity motor, its number of poles is different, and the rated current of the motor is different. With the increase of the number of poles of the motor, the rated current of the motor increases. The capacity selection of the inverter governor cannot be based on the rated power of the motor. At the same time, for the original transformation project that does not use the frequency converter, the capacity selection of the frequency converter cannot be based on the rated current of the motor. This is because the capacity selection of the motor should consider factors such as large load, affluence coefficient, motor specifications, etc., and the amount of affluence is often large, and the industrial motor often operates at 50%-60% of the rated load. If the capacity of the inverter governor is selected based on the rated current of the motor, the amount of wealth is too large, resulting in economic waste, and the reliability is not improved.
For the squirrel cage motor, the capacity selection of the frequency converter should be based on the principle that the rated current of the frequency converter is greater than or equal to 1.1 times of the maximum normal working current of the motor, so as to save money to the greatest extent. For heavy-duty starting, high-temperature environments, winding motors, synchronous motors, etc., the capacity of the frequency conversion governor should be appropriately increased.
For designs that use inverters from the start, it is understandable that the selection of inverter capacity is based on the rated current of the motor. This is because the inverter capacity cannot be selected based on actual operating conditions. Of course, in order to reduce investment, in some cases, you can also determine the capacity of the inverter first, and wait for the actual operation of the equipment for a period of time, and then choose according to the actual current.

The key point to pay attention to when choosing a UPS power supply - Delta
(1) About the synchronous switching function. Now, in addition to the off-line UPS power supply with an additional output power of less than 500VA, the off-line UPS power supply with square wave output is still selected for conversion control without mains synchronization function, and all UPS power supplies with an output power of 1KVA and above are performing the conversion operation of mains power supply to inverter power supply.

Problems in the inverter application – Delta inverters
1. Harmonic problems
The equipment that plays the role of switching in the main circuit of the inverter must generate harmonics in the process of turning on and off the circuit. The lower harmonics generally have a greater impact on the motor load and cause torque ripple; The higher harmonics increase the leakage current of the inverter's output cable, making ...
