The customer we are talking about today is Qualcomm Machinery, which has been established for 25 years. 02 pain points
Due to the increasing demand for customization on the consumer side, Qualcomm Machinery's production line is facing the challenge of small batches and multiple varieties. However, in the production process, traditional six-axis industrial robots often slow down the production schedule due to the long switching cycle. As a result, factories need to retain operators while considering the flexibility of manual operations. This deployment enables the plant to meet order demand by changing the layout of existing production lines with minimal frequency.
03 Solution
In the end, the customer adopted the ELITE EC66 (6kg) load-bearing collaborative robot solution, which replaced the application of traditional six-axis industrial robots, and greatly improved production efficiency. The plant also compared the ELITE cobot to a traditional six-axis industrial robot and found that the cobot was not much slower than traditional industrial robots overall, and was even much faster than them when handling certain parts. In addition, due to the ease of assembly and programming, the cobot can be switched freely between multiple machines and production lines, allowing customers to put it into production in less than two days. In the future, ELITE cobots, a solution that is faster to deploy and easier to install, will continue to be used to pick up individual workpieces up to 15kg, while traditional industrial robots will be used to handle, load and unload larger, heavier workpieces.
