(1) FILM- For touch film, the substrate is PET. When touched, the ITO in the upper and lower layers passes through the membrane, which creates deformation contacts in the X and Y axes (similar to the principle of moving a rheostat) with different "resistance values".
Depending on the requirements, the surface of the film is divided into two types: a shiny surface (smooth surface) and a rough surface (blurred surface), similar to the difference between ordinary glass and frosted glass. Smooth surfaces are often used in a wide range of small consumer electronics. The main advantages are a smooth surface, high light transmittance, and a clear advantage in appearance and viewing. The advantages of a smooth surface are that there are no reflections, no Newtonian rings, and it is not easy to cause visual fatigue when viewed for a long time.
Because touch screens are usually used for writing and contacting, the surface hardness of the film usually needs to reach the standard of 3H to prevent friction and scratches.
(2) The ITO film is short indium tin oxide, which is a conductive film. Extremely fine, membranes and glass made by a "sputtering" (spray-like) process. The "linearity" of said touch screen is largely determined by the uniformity of the membrane. In particular, the membrane itself is a stretchable part, and the uniformity of the ITO membrane on its surface is even more important.
(3) Glass: It plays the role of a bearing on the one hand, bears the operating pressure and prevents the deformation of the whole finished product. On the other hand, its surface is also coated with ITO film, thus completing the "touch function" along with the film.
(4) The individual point is made of an insulating rubber material, and the diameter is generally 0.03-0.05. The spacer is attached to the glass by the "wire mesh" method, keeping the above film at a distance of 0.05-0.07. Its function is to ensure the accuracy of the action to prevent misoperation and touch, and at the same time, the size of the operating force can be adjusted by the size of the interval point when touching.
(5) Silver wire is used to conduct the signal of electric current, and is also printed on film and glass by "screen printing".
(6) Insulating adhesive is used to prevent short circuits of upper and lower silver wires, and also suspends the film on the glass, with a total thickness of about 0.10 mm "support frame".
(7) Adhesive glue is used to put the upper and lower layers of the bond together.
(8) Transparent oil Its function is to adjust the range of the non-action area, on the one hand, it can appropriately expand the viewing area (according to the customer's requirements), and on the other hand, it can prevent misoperation.
(9) The FPC line is connected to the touch screen and the motherboard to complete the signal transmission (see the figure below). The definition of FPC mainly includes four aspects: the shape of the FPC, the PIN number of the FPC and the thickness of the contact surface (front or back) and the FPC reinforcement board.
(10) Touch screen shape specifications and touch screen dimensions, including length, width and thickness. Currently, touchscreens on the market are available in thicknesses of 1.0mm and 1.4mm. This is because the glass in the touch screen is currently widely used in thicknesses of 0.70 mm and 1.10 mm.
The length and width of the touch screen generally refer to the size of the glass (rigid body). During processing, the maximum tolerance dimensions of the plant are generated. This is mainly due to factors such as "edge damage" in the handling process and machining accuracy (final cutting of the glass) and the glass.
When designing, the profile dimensions are usually determined according to the simplified shape of TFTLCD, which is mainly designed to facilitate installation and positioning. Usually, different TFT LCDs correspond to a single touch screen. If the size of the LCD is very small, the touch screen can be shared. TFTLCD needs to be positioned differently.
(11) The visual area in which the line of sight is not obstructed. The outside sight is the area where the line of sight cannot be "pierced". Therefore, the "viewable area" should be larger than the display overlay to prevent the image from being blocked from touching the screen.
The method for determining the viewing area comprises: in the visible area of the touch screen, according to the size of the window area of the cover. First, according to the unilateral reduction by 0.5 mm-1.5 mm to determine the size of the window in the display screen cover, then unilaterally expand by 0.5 mm-1 mm to cover the effective area of the TFTLCD image in the window area (according to the actual structure) as the visible area of the touch screen.
(12) Non-action areas will be non-operational response when there is a touch in this regard. This area is mainly used to prevent misoperation of the processing area, not the parts required by the function of the product.
(13) The action area is the area used for touch operation, and all operations in this area must have an operation response. This is the functional area of the touch screen and the most important area in the design.
(14) Cover Window Area - This area will not be reflected in the formal design of the touch screen drawing, but will determine the visible area/non-action area/action area (see the method of determining the visible area when it is an important basis above) to prevent failure due to cover.
In touch screen products, operating pressure is also an important indicator. It refers to the pressure of the pen or finger touching the membrane during the action of that touch. The specifications of handwritten products are generally 10-80g, and hand-touched products are generally 10-150g.
The sensitivity to the operating force is high when the pressure is low, but if the method and the toughness of the membrane are not good, it may cause failure due to factors such as vibration. Excessively stressed products will not feel good in the hand and will not have some effect on the reaction speed.
Of course, it is easier to make the work pressure "big" and difficult to make it "small". In the schematic diagram, we see that there is an even distribution under the "spaced" films. Adjusting the spacing and size of the Time Interval is one of the main ways to adjust the operating force.
