Precautions for servo motors:

1. Protection of servo motor oil and water

A: The servo motor can be used in places where it will be attacked by water or oil droplets, but it is not fully waterproof or oil-proof. Therefore, servo motors should not be placed or used in water or oil-infested environments.

B: If the servo motor is connected to a reduction gear, the servo motor should be filled with oil seal to prevent the oil from the reduction gear from entering the servo motor.

C: The cable of the servo motor should not be submerged in oil or water.

2. Servo motor cable → reduce stress

A: Ensure that the cable is not subjected to torque or vertical load due to external bending force or its own weight, especially at the cable outlet or connection.

B: In the case of the servo motor moving, the cable (i.e. the one that comes with the motor) should be firmly fixed to a stopping part (relative to the motor) and it should be extended with an additional cable installed in the cable support so that the bending stress can be minimized.

C: The radius of the elbow of the cable should be as large as possible.

3. The load at the end of the shaft promised by the servo motor

A: Ensure that the radial and axial loads added to the servo motor shaft during installation and operation are controlled within the specified value of each model.

B: Be extra careful when installing a rigid coupling, especially as excessive bending loads may cause damage or wear to the shaft ends and bearings.

C: It is best to use a flexible coupling in order to keep the radial load below the promised value, which is designed for servo motors with high mechanical strength.

D: For the promised shaft load, please refer to the "Promised Shaft Load Table" (operating manual).

Fourth, the servo motor device should pay attention

A: When installing/disassembling the coupling parts to the shaft end of the servo motor, do not hit the shaft end directly with a hammer. (The hammer hits the shaft directly, and the encoder at the other end of the servo motor shaft is broken). B: Strive to align the shaft ends to the best possible condition (poor alignment may lead to oscillation or bearing damage).
