The Japan Electronics Motor Basic Technology Research Institute aims to further high-end and strengthen our basic research and expand the field of applied research.
The company's philosophy is to create a world-class motor research and development base that matches the world's leading comprehensive motor manufacturer, and it has the following three missions.
(1) Strengthen basic research and basic R&D capabilities, which are the driving force of growth strategies, and application technology capabilities that can produce high value-added products that meet the needs of the times
(2) A center for technical collaboration with group companies

Institutions and research systems
The Motor Basic Technology Research Institute has established branches in Japan and Taiwan, and actively employs researchers who have obtained doctoral degrees and foreign researchers. As shown in the figure below, the entire research system consists of seven divisions, covering a wide range of research fields, including next-generation motors and motor applications.

Central Motor Basic Technology Research Institute (Japan)
The Chuo Motor Infrastructure Research Institute was established in June 2012 and officially opened a new research building in January 2014. The new research building (17,953㎡) is equipped with the latest and most advanced motor research equipment on four floors above ground and two basement floors.
Taiwan Motor Basic Technology Research Institute
Taiwan Motor Basic Technology Research Institute was established in September 2012 and is located in the Southern Taiwan Innovation & Research Park (STIR) in Tainan. Currently, the institute is working with the Industries Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC), as well as major local universities (National Cheng Kung University and others) and companies. He conducts research on basic issues such as the structure and control of motors
Products & Results
The R&D Center for Basic Motor Technology focuses on high-efficiency motors, magnet-free motors, rare earth-free motors, next-generation motors, and SR motors used in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in magnet-free motors. In addition, in order to advance basic technologies as a whole, the institute will conduct research on a variety of topics and aspects of the development infrastructure for next-generation motors, such as materials, electronic components, thermal fluids, structures, vibrations, and sounds, as well as computer-aided engineering technologies.
