The new pressure sensors of the ifm PM series are the solution for pressure detection in small pipes with a common flush seal concept. This concept allows small ceramic capacitive measuring elements to be hygienically integrated into small pipes, e.g. in material distribution and packing systems, which was not possible in the past. Thanks to the G 1/2 thread, the sensor completes the device without the need for expensive adapters. The flush fittings allow the use of viscous media and ensure optimal CIP cleaning, and each sensor comes with a factory certificate that can be downloaded free of charge.

                               The ifm G 1/2 is an extremely cost-effective pressure sensor

Due to the non-elastomeric seal, the sensor is protection-free on the process side. The flush and robust ceramic measuring elements withstand pressure and vacuum shocks as well as the impact of abrasive substances. The sensor can withstand media temperatures of up to 150 °C (maximum duration 1 hour).

The compact size of the sensor reduces the drawbacks of the stainless steel barrier technology that prevails in shopping malls, making the PM series pressure sensor an economical solution for pressure applications that do not require visibility.

In food and beverage stores, these products have a very compact form factor and high precision. The improved resistance to temperature shocks allows the customer to return to normal operation faster during the cleaning cycle, which in turn improves the availability and performance of the machine (better OEE metrics). The internal device temperature measurement provides a true diagnostic function via IO-Link, which allows the customer to know whether the sensor is operating at a normal temperature and whether it has been overheated.
