There are three programming methods for Panasonic PLC; Instruction table ladder high-level language
PLC programming, that is, the user program of PLC, is designed by the designer according to the process control requirements of the control system, through the compilation specifications of the PLC programming language, and according to the actual functions to be used. As long as the user can master a standard programming language, he can use the PLC to realize various automatic control functions in the control system.
According to the Industrial Control Programming Language Standard (IEC1131-3) formulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission, PLC has five standard programming languages: Ladder Diagram Language (LD), Instruction Table Language (IL), Functional Module Language (FBD), Sequential Functional Flow Diagram Language (SFC), and Structured Text Language (ST). These five standard programming languages are very simple and easy to learn.
1. Instruction List Language (IL)
The Instruction List Programming Language is a mnemonic programming language similar to assembly language, which consists of opcodes and operands like assembly language. In the absence of a computer, it is suitable to use a PLC handheld programmer to program the user. At the same time, the instruction list programming language corresponds to the ladder programming language diagram one-to-one, and can be converted to each other under the PLC programming software. Figure 3 is the instruction list corresponding to the PLC ladder diagram in Figure 2.
The characteristics of the instruction table programming language are: the use of mnemonics to represent the operation function, with easy to remember, easy to master; The mnemonic representation is used on the keyboard of the handheld programmer, which is easy to operate and can be programmed in the absence of a computer; There is a one-to-one correspondence with the ladder chart. Its characteristics are basically the same as the ladder diagram language.
2. Ladder Language (LD)
The ladder diagram language is the most commonly used programming language in PLC programming. It is a programming language similar to relay lines. Due to the familiarity of electrical designers with relay control, ladder programming languages have been widely welcomed and used.
The characteristics of the ladder programming language are: corresponding to the electrical operation schematic, it is intuitive and corresponding; Consistent with legacy relay control, it is easy for electrical designers to master.
The difference between the ladder programming language and the original relay control is that the energy flow in the ladder diagram is not the current in the actual sense, and the internal relay is not the actual relay, and the application needs to be treated differently from the original relay control concept.
3. High-level language (Structured Text Language (ST))
A structured text language is a programming language that describes a program with structured descriptive text. It is a programming language similar to a high-level language. In large and medium-sized PLC systems, structured text is often used to describe the relationship between various variables in the control system. It is mainly used for user programming that is difficult to implement in other programming languages.
Structured text programming languages use computer descriptions to describe the various operational relationships between various variables in a system to complete the required functions or operations. Most PLC manufacturers use structured text programming languages that are similar to high-level languages such as BASIC, PASCAL, or C, but have been simplified in terms of how statements are expressed and the types of statements that are used for ease of application.
Characteristics of structured text programming language: using high-level language for programming, it can complete more complex control operations; It requires certain knowledge of high-level computer language and programming skills, which has high requirements for engineering designers. Poor intuitiveness and operability.
Different types of PLC programming software support different types of programming languages, and the early PLC only supported ladder programming language and instruction list programming language. The current Panasonic PLC supports ladder diagram (LD), instruction list (STL), and high-level language.
