Lawson Panasonic opened a store in Nanjing Park to create a new business model

Lawson Co., Ltd. and Panasonic Household Appliances (China) Co., Ltd. set up a new "prefabricated building storefront" in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province on July 31 this year.

The two new prefabricated building stores, located in Nanjing Basalt Ecological Park, are based on the selection of modern prefabricated structure engineering construction, low heat transfer technology, real-time monitoring of cold chain logistics machinery and equipment and their reusable mobile technology, to complete the reduction of the construction period, environmental protection and energy saving, and reduce the consumption of raw materials at the construction site. The store uses VIP insulation materials, which are the world's rare vacuum pump insulation and insulation technology that appeared in the whole process of refrigerator product development for the first time in the decorative building materials installation room market. In this collaboration, Lawson will manage the store with the technical support of the installation room presented by Panasonic.

With the increasing number of chain convenience stores in China at this stage, consumers' daily life requirements for chain convenience stores are gradually normal. The emergence of prefabricated building stores, aiming at areas such as ecological parks, construction project sites, and underground parking lots, which are more difficult to open physical stores, can improve customer contact points according to the use of prefabricated building technology, which can flexibly match consumer requirements and complete the rapid establishment of stores. Based on this move, Lawson will focus on further expanding the presence of stores in the Chinese market.

It is understood that in the 90s, Lawson was invited by the Shanghai Municipal Government to set up a local branch and settled in Shanghai as the first Japanese-style convenience store chain company in China. In May 2013, the wholly state-owned company founded Beijing Lawson, and in August of the same year, it began to expand its store in Beijing. This year, Beijing Lawson entered Tianjin to open a physical store. By the end of June this year, a total of 161 stores had been set up in Beijing and Tianjin. At the beginning of 2017, Lawson promoted subsidiaries and local retail enterprises to carry out large-scale franchise agents in major cities, and accelerated the expansion of physical store areas and the number of stores. In addition, according to the signed regional application approval contract, the advantages and characteristics of the partner company itself are used to undertake the development, design and operation of stores in specific regions, and each of them has opened physical stores in Wuhan, Hubei, Hefei, Anhui and Changsha, Hunan. In the future, Lawson will lead the opening of physical stores in China in the form of regional franchise agents and large franchise agents across the country, and plans to expand the business scale to more than 3,000 franchise stores this year.

Panasonic has been in the Chinese market for more than 40 years, and its work and operation scale accounts for 25% of the total Panasonic Group. In April this year, Panasonic Household Appliances, a regional work enterprise of "China's affairs management and management decision-making in China", was established to promote China's on-site development strategy according to the implementation of China's model, China's creation, and China's cost. With the overall goal of completing all-round equipment maintenance, Panasonic and Lawson have created a new business model by providing solutions for consumers to quickly set up stores and provide them with refrigeration equipment, restaurant kitchen equipment, energy management systems, and other equipment and system software based on their installation technology with a slightly shorter delivery cycle.
