Introduction: The Fisher/Fisher 8590 High Performance Butterfly Valve maintains tight shut-off and can be specified for a wide range of pressure and temperature conditions. The 8590 valve is available in a lug-style body design. The spline shaft can be connected to a variety of springs and valve membrane or pneumatic pilot actuators, and the square shaft or keyway shaft can be connected to the hand rod, hand wheel or actuator valve membrane actuator of the starter.

The pressure-assisted seal design allows for tight shut-off, allowing the use of smaller, more economical actuators in applications with full shut-off capability to ASME B16.34 standards.
THE OPTIONAL ENVIRO-SEAL™ PACKING SYSTEM FEATURES A VERY SMOOTH SHAFT SURFACE AND DYNAMIC LOAD DESIGN TO PROVIDE IMPROVED SEALING, GUIDANCE, AND LOAD FORCE DISTRIBUTION.
Trim and bolt materials are available for acidic liquid and gas applications.
The installation of the sealing ring screws does not interfere with the sealing function.
The torque required to open and close the valve is the same regardless of which direction the pressure is applied.
