The Fisher® FIELDVUE™ DVC6200p Digital Valve Controller is a PROFIBUS PA communication protocol with connectionless, non-contact valve position feedback. In addition to the traditional function of converting digital signals into pneumatic outputs, the DVC6200p digital valve controller with PROFIBUS PA communication protocol provides customers with easy access to critical process operation and process control information. With the PROFIBUS PA-compatible configuration tool, you can get more information about the health status of your instruments, actuators and valves. You can also get equipment information, such as the manufacturer, model, and serial number of the actuator or valve. You can set input and output configuration parameters and calibrate the instrument. With the PROFIBUS PA protocol, information from the instrument can be easily integrated into the control system.

Connectionless, Non-Contact Valve Position Feedback — The high-performance, connection-free feedback system avoids physical contact between the stem and the DVC6200p, so there are no worn parts, resulting in longer service life.

Built to last—The field-proven DVC6200p meter's electronics are hermetically sealed, so they are resistant to vibration, temperature, and corrosive environments. The weatherproof junction box isolates the field wiring from the rest of the meter.

Controllable and responsive — The two-stage positioner design provides a fast response to large step changes and can be controlled for smaller setpoint changes.

Stroke Control/Pressure Control – Valve position feedback is critical to the operational performance of a digital valve controller. The DVC6200p can detect valve position feedback faults and automatically convert them to I/P converter mode to ensure reliable valve operation.

Use

Increased security – the DVC6200p is a device based on the PROFIBUS PA communication protocol, so the user can obtain information from anywhere in the loop. The flexibility of access to information reduces the risk of operators being exposed to hazardous environments and makes it easier to evaluate valves in inaccessible locations.

Fast start-up – The PROFIBUS configuration tool in the DVC6200p Electronic Device Description (EDD) allows users to commission circuits quickly and remotely. By shorting the auxiliary terminal in the junction box, the user can also calibrate/debug the DVC6200p locally.

Ease of maintenance – The DVC6200p digital valve controller has a modular design. Critical components can be replaced without removing field wiring or pneumatic lines.

Valve Stroke Test — Valve stroke testing is used to determine if a valve is working properly. It allows the user to automatically verify the valve calibration after the wizard is set up.
