Recently, Pilz won the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award jointly issued by the China Machinery Industry Federation and the China Mechanical Engineering Society, in recognition of Pilz in the "Machinery Safety Hazardous Energy Control Method Lock-in/Listing (GB/T33579-2017 Standard Number) standard development, application and publicity".

GB/T33579-2017 was proposed and centralized by the National Technical Committee for Machinery Safety Standardization (SAC/TC208), issued on May 12, 2017, and officially implemented on December 1, 2017. This standard specifies the requirements for the control of hazardous energy that may cause injury to personnel, as well as the protective steps, technologies, methods and performance indicators for controlling the accidental release of hazardous energy.

Before the issuance of the standard, due to the insufficient control requirements and methods of electrical, air source, hydraulic, thermal and other hazardous energy, machinery manufacturers did not identify the danger of hazardous energy in the process of mechanical maintenance in the process of mechanical design, nor did they assess the risk that the danger may cause injury to personnel, resulting in the lack of energy isolation device. At the same time, for enterprises that use machines, it is also impossible to adopt the correct hazardous energy control methods and establish the correct hazardous energy control processes, resulting in unacceptable risks for machinery maintenance personnel.

As one of the drafting units of GB/T33579, Pilz technical experts Huang Zhijiong and Yin Zhiyao participated in the preparation of the standard and have a deep understanding of the standard. Since the official release and implementation of the standard, Pilz has actively responded to and promoted the popularization and application of the standard in China, not only organized a number of standard publicity activities, but also launched a special LoTo lockout/tagout course in Pilz training courses, inserted the course link, so far, at least 100 enterprises have learned how to use the standard to establish or optimize the hazardous energy control process and method of the enterprise through the training and standard publicity of Pilz. What's more, Pilz consulted the GB/T3579 standard in the risk assessment of a total of 1,000 machines and provided improvement recommendations to the company based on the steps and methods specified in the standard. Help enterprises solve the problem of hazardous energy control and reduce the occurrence of accidents.
