Yaskawa Electric restores three plants in Japan on the premise of safety

Yaskawa Electric recently announced that its soft starter processing plant in Shanghai has resumed production since February 18. So far, the three processing plants of this Japanese-funded processing and manufacturing company in China have been fully opened.

Last week, Yaskawa Electric resumed production at two other processing plants in China. Among them, the processing plant in Shenyang, Heilongjiang Province, started construction on February 10. The key commodity of the processing plant is servo controllers.

On February 14, Yaskawa Electric's intelligent robot processing plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province also restored normal manufacturing.

Yaskawa Electric said that each processing plant will follow the local government's label to ensure the safety of workers and goods.

In addition, under the specific guidance of government departments across the country, the processing plant has adopted a variety of epidemic prevention measures, including the wearing of masks by all personnel in the work area, the filing of the human body temperature of migrant workers, and disinfection and sterilization at different time periods. Lunches at the processing plant have also been changed to disposable lunch boxes for nutritious meals, and workers can eat in a decentralized manner in the canteen.

Yaskawa Electric indicated that at this stage, the traffic control notice and the supply of parts are not optimistic, resulting in the production and manufacturing of the processing plant cannot be fully repaired.

Since February 10, Yaskawa China's head office in Shanghai has restored various business processes. Full consideration is given to the priority selection to ensure the safety of employees, and at this stage, all employees choose the method of working from home to ensure that the basic business processes are carried out normally. Yaskawa Electric said that it will decide on the restoration time of all normal business processes in accordance with the relevant signs of government departments and the actual situation.

Yaskawa Electric is one of the world's top four manufacturers of industrial robots. In 2018, its sales reached 474.6 billion daily pillars (equivalent to 30.2 billion RMB).

In 2012, Yaskawa Electric set up a wholly owned processing plant in Changzhou City, which is its first time to open an industrial manipulator manufacturing base abroad.

In 2018, the second phase of Yaskawa Electric's Changzhou processing plant was under construction, and the production capacity of industrial manipulators was expanded to 1,500 units per month.

In the same year, Yaskawa Electric's Shenyang processing plant also completed the capital construction of the third phase of the new project, and the monthly production of servo motor drives reached 300,000 units.
