In GX Works3, there are three types of security settings: block password, security key, and file password. The block password is for the program to prevent others from reading and writing changes, only for the program; The file password is for the PLC to prevent others from reading and writing changes. The security key can be used for both the program and the PLC.
Block password
Block passwords can only be maintained for programs. In the block password settings window, you can also change and delete the password code.
(1) Block password setting: click on the project - security - block password setting.
(2) Password login: Select login in the pop-up window, fill in the same password twice and click confirm.
(3) When the password is set, the program will have a blue unlock icon, which is the status of authentication.
(4) When the program is opened again, the program has a black lock icon, and the authentication password is required to view and correct it.
(5) Authentication password: click on the project - security - block password setting, click on the authentication in the pop-up window to fill in the correct password and then click confirm, so that you can see the black lock icon to the blue lock icon, and you can watch and correct the program inside.
Security keys
Security keys can maintain programs in the computer from being viewed by others, and programs in the PLC from being stolen by other manufacturers.
(1) Security key handling: Before setting the security key, set up the security key handling: click on the project - security - security key handling to enter.
(2) Title creation: Select New in the security key processing window, fill in the title and click Confirm.
(3) Enter the security key setting: click on the project - security - security key setting to enter.
(4) Maintenance data: select the set security key title, check the object that needs to be maintained, the project refers to the program in the computer, and the CPU refers to the program in the PLC. CPU needs to be connected to the PLC to check, *** after logging in, the corresponding program will have a lock icon.
(5) Export key: click on the project - security - security key to enter, select export. Pay attention to the expiration date of the key, fill in the password, and share the key with others after exporting.
(6) Import key: Click on the project - security - security key to enter, select import, select the exported key, and fill in the correct password to complete the authentication and remove the password.
The file password is used for the maintenance of the program in the PLC, and it is necessary to be successfully linked to the PLC hardware before it can be used.
(1) Open file password settings: click on Project - Security - File Password Settings to enter.
(2) Password login: Click login in the pop-up file password setting window, and in the password login window, you can set the object password (read stop, write stop, read stop \ write stop), fill in the same password twice, and click finish.
(3) Password setting successfully: When writing the password, pay attention to the PLC to be able to write in the case of Stop, and click Confirm when the password is set successfully.
(4) Delete password: If you don't want permission maintenance, you can log in to the file password setting window and click Delete, fill in the correct password in the password deletion window and click Confirm to delete the password.
