This function can be used to install KSS updates, e.g. from KSS 8.3.0 to KSS 8.3.1. After installing or updating the KUKA system software, the robot control system always performs an initial cold start. We believe that all relevant data should be archived prior to software updates. I can restore the old state if I need it. In addition, it is also advocated that the new condition should be saved after the update.
Do not use this function to install new variety, e.g. from KSS 8.2 to KSS 8.3. The same does not use this utility device for new types, e.g. from KSS 8.3 to KSS 8.3 SR. For new versions or types of installations, please contact KUKA Deutschland GmbH. You may not use an update package for the auxiliary software, such as an application package, for this utility device.
There are 2 ways to install KSS updates:
1. Update the USB flash drive
It is necessary to use a USB flash drive that does not function as a generator.
It is advisable to use a KUKA USB flash drive with no engine function. If you use a USB stick from another manufacturer, the data may be lost.
Mode of operation T1 or T2
No program was selected.
A USB flash drive with the software to be installed
The ZIP file necessary has now been unzipped.
No other files are allowed in a directory with a single file.
Operational processes
1. Plug in the USB flash drive.
2. In the main menu, select Put into Operation> Software Update > Proactive.
3. A security inquiry arises and is it OK to update. Press Yes to confirm.
The following message will appear in the message window: The software update is ready, please start your computer from the beginning!
4. In the main menu, select Shut down, then pick the option Start the control system PC from scratch. (Not required.)
Read in the file from scratch)
5. Click Yes to confirm the security inquiry. The robot controller is started from scratch and updated.
Then, the robot controller restarts again.
6. When the robot controller has completed the second reboot, it can pull out the USB flash drive.
It is now possible to use the updated system software.
2. Network updates
Device data is cloned to local drive D:\ when updating from the network. Suppose there is already a system soft on D:\
piece of copy, which will be masked.
Once the cloning process is complete, the device will begin.
Prerequisites For preparation:
No program was selected.
Mode of operation T1 or T2
User groups
For operational processes:
No program was selected.
Mode of operation T1 or T2
Prepare the network path from which the device is updated:
1. Select the > Assistive Software in the main menu.
2. Press New Software.
3. Press Equipment.
4. Select the device path for the field to go through the network update KRC. Select by pressing the path.
5. Select the desired network route (= directory where file Setup.exe is located). Press Save.
6. The selected path will be displayed in the device path where the field has passed through the network to update the KRC. Click Save again.
7. Close the window
Operational processes
1. From the main menu, select Debug > Software Update > Network.
2. A security query arises, are you sure you want to update? Press Yes to confirm. Depending on the network load rate, the process can take up to 15 minutes.
3. Displays a message stating that the next time a cold engine is activated, it will be enforced. Closed control system.
4. Wait until the computer is completely closed. Then flip over the control system from the beginning.
5. After the update is complete, the computer is actively closed and restarted

Classification and model of KUKA robots
Functionally, KUKA robots can be divided into arc welding robots, casting and forging robots, and handling/palletizing robots.
KUKA arc welding robot refers to an industrial robot that performs automatic arc welding, which is basically the same as a spot welding robot. Welding robots are mainly used for welding of various automotive parts.

Introduction to KUKA industrial robots
KUKA Industrial Robots is one of the world's leading manufacturers of industrial robots. More than 10,000 industrial robots are produced every year, and so far, 150,000 have been installed worldwide. Cooka is able to provide standard industrial 6-axis robots from 3KG to 1000KG, as well as some special purpose robots ...

The KUKA robot adjusts the bias operation procedure
If the initial adjustment is lost (e.g. after a motor replacement or a bump), the initial adjustment is reverted. Since the learned error persists after the adjustment is lost, the KUKA robot calculates the initial adjustment. Before checking an axis, it is necessary to complete the ...

KUKA robot external axis motor grouping
In order to improve the welding attainability, the arc welding workstation usually uses a variety of positioners, and the common formforms of positioners include L-shaped positioners, tipping positioners, headstock positioners, etc. In the meantime, the L-type positioner and the tilting positioner have two external shafts, and some special working conditions require ...

The KUKA robot needs to correct the situation
If the origin orientation is incorrect, the encoder debugging/zeroing position is used to move each axis to a defined mechanical orientation, i.e. the mechanical zero orientation. This mechanical zero point requires the shaft to move to a position defined by the detection notch or scribe mark. If the KUKA robot is in the mechanical ...

The limit switch of the KUKA robot software is manually disarmed
Programmable software limit switches limit the axis size of all robots and positioning axes. The software limit switch is intended for use only as a machine guard and is set to prevent the manipulator/positioning device from traveling to the end baffle of the machine.
Software limit switches have been put into operation in industrial robots.

KUKA truss robot maintenance method
1. Maintain good parts
Parts are an important part of the CNC machine tool robot, the reason why the parts of the CNC machine tool manipulator in the process of use show severe wear, the first reason is that there are problems with people's devices, so that the position of the parts is problematic.

The "axis" role of the six-axis tandem robot - KUKA robot
Traditional six-axis industrial robots generally have 6 degrees of freedom, including rotation (S-axis), lower arm (L-axis), upper arm (U-axis), wrist rotation (R-axis), wrist swing (B-axis) and wrist rotation (T-axis). The 6 joints are combined to achieve the 6 degrees of freedom movement at the end.
