Elliptical gear flowmeter (also known as displacement flowmeter, gear flowmeter), classified as a positive displacement flowmeter, is a class with high accuracy in the flow surface. It uses a mechanical measuring element to continuously cut the fluid into a single known volume part, and measures the total flow volume according to the number of times the volume part of the fluid is filled and discharged in the metering chamber one by one and repeatedly. The elliptical gear flowmeter can be made of different materials (cast iron, cast steel, 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel), and it is especially suitable for flow measurement of heavy oil, polyvinyl alcohol, resin and other high-viscosity media.

Peculiarity:

According to the requirements of the correct device after the elliptical gear flowmeter, the use of sufficient accuracy can be ensured, usually the cumulative value of the accuracy can reach 0.5 level, is a more accurate flow metering appearance. However, if the flow rate of the measured medium is too small during operation, the effect of the leakage error on the surface will be outstanding, and sufficient measurement accuracy can no longer be ensured. Therefore, the elliptical gear flowmeter of different models and specifications has a promised value for the small application flow, and only when the measured flow rate is greater than the lower limit flow rate promised value, the measurement accuracy can be ensured.

Secondly, the use of elliptical gear flowmeter should pay attention to the temperature of the measured medium should not be too high, otherwise it will not only increase the measurement error, but also have the possibility of making the gear stuck. For this purpose, elliptical gear flowmeters are used within the operating temperature range specified on the outside.

After long-term use, the internal gears of the elliptical gear flowmeter will be corroded and worn, and then the measurement accuracy will be affected. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the investigation frequently, and regularly remove it for inspection, and if the conditions are agreed, it is good to carry out the calibration regularly.
