1. Direct observation

The direct observation method is to check the obvious faults of the industrial computer by looking, listening, touching, smelling, etc. For example, according to the BIOS alarm sound or Debug card of the industrial computer, the location of the fault is judged; Observe whether there are sparks and abnormal sounds in the power supply of the industrial computer; Check whether the plugs of various industrial computers are loose, whether the cables are damaged, broken or touched; Whether the components on the circuit board of the industrial computer are hot, scorched, broken, desoldered and soldered; Whether the various fans of the industrial computer are running normally, etc. Some fault phenomena appear from time to time, and the rubber head can be used to tap the relevant components to observe the changes in the fault phenomena to determine the fault location.

2. Comparative inspection method

Running two or more identical or similar industrial computers, the location of the fault can be preliminarily judged according to the different performance of the normal industrial computer and the faulty industrial computer when performing the same operation.

3. Plugging and replacement method

Once the location of the fault has been initially determined, the suspect component or cable can be re-plugged to rule out the cause of looseness or poor contact. For example, after removing the IPC board card, wipe the gold finger with an eraser, and then reinsert it; Replug and unplug various cables, etc. If the fault cannot be eliminated after plugging and unplugging, you can replace the faulty board with a card of the same functional model to determine whether the wooden body of the board is damaged or there is a problem with the socket of the motherboard, and then replace the board as appropriate.

Fourth, percussion inspection method

Gently tapping the IPC shell with your finger may solve the problem of failure caused by poor contact or virtual soldering. For example, tap the north and south bridge chips of the motherboard with your fingers or plastic rods to determine whether it is BGA virtual soldering, and then further check and determine the location of the fault point.

5. Exchange Law

The plug-in board of the same model, the plug-in board with the same bus mode and the same function or the chip of the same model are exchanged with each other, and the fault is judged according to the change of the fault phenomenon. This method is mostly used in easy-to-plug maintenance environments, such as memory white detection errors, the same memory chip or memory module can be exchanged to determine the fault. In short, if the same model of microcomputer parts or external devices can be found, the exchange method can be used to quickly determine whether it is a quality problem with the wood body of the component.

6. System minimization method

The most serious fault is that the industrial computer does not have any display and alarm information after starting, and the minimum system method is adopted for diagnosis, that is, only the CPU, memory, graphics card, and motherboard are installed. If the IPC does not work properly, the replacement method is used to find the faulty parts in these four key parts. If the industrial computer can work normally, then connect the hard disk, etc. And so on until you find out what caused the failure.
