EMC Filter Installation Considerations – Delta

All electronic equipment (including frequency converters) will generate some high-frequency or low-frequency noise during normal operation, and disturb the peripheral equipment through conduction or radiation. If the right EMC filter can be configured and the correct device method can be used, the disturbance can be reduced to a minimum. It is recommended to deploy Delta's EMC filter in order to maximize the disturbance effect of the inverter.

When installing frequency converters and EMC filters, we can be confident that they will meet the following standards in accordance with the contents of the manual:

  1. EN61000-6-4 2. EN61800-3: 1996

  3. EN55011 (1991) Class A Group 1

Precautions for installation

In order to ensure that the EMC filter can play the best role of the inverter disturbance, in addition to the inverter needs to be able to be installed and wired according to the content of the manual, the following points should also be noted:

1. Both the EMC filter and the frequency converter must be mounted on the same metal plate.

2. When installing EMC filters and inverters, try to install inverters on top of EMC filters.

3. Keep the wiring as short as possible.

4. The metal plate should be well grounded.

5. The metal shell or grounding of the EMC filter and inverter must be fixed on the metal plate very reliably, and the contact area between the two should be as large as possible.
