1. Excessive dust causes failure

Excessive dust in the industrial computer will affect the heat dissipation of some important hardware equipment, if the CPU and graphics card and other important hardware are not well dissipated, it will naturally cause blue screen or blurred screen or freeze frame or black screen downtime.

Countermeasures: Dust removal operations on the industrial computer at regular intervals, and keep the operating environment of the industrial computer clean.

2. Hardware equipment is not well dissipated, resulting in downtime

If there is too much dust, poor lubrication, severe wear or severe aging on the fan, it will affect the heat dissipation of the hardware equipment, and as the situation continues to deteriorate, it will appear that it will frequently shut down or restart after a period of use.

Countermeasures: Regularly check the working condition of each fan in the industrial computer and lubricate it regularly (it is recommended to use sewing machine oil) or replace the fan to prevent such problems. If it has been shown that it will frequently crash every time it is used, open the case and observe which fan is abnormal (such as loud noise or significant slowdown or stoppage) or which hardware temperature is abnormal (such as touching a chip or heat sink with your hand is very hot, etc.) when the industrial computer is running, and then do the corresponding treatment.

3. There is resistance in the memory, resulting in downtime

This is a relatively simple situation when multiple programs are running together. When you run a lot of software together, everything works, but sometimes it crashes and then restarts and then you run the applications again, mostly because of conflicting memory resources. Applications run in memory, but some applications use the same memory address with another software for planning reasons, which is a contradiction. This type of downtime is usually freeze-frame downtime or reboot or blue screen or prompt illegal operation or loss of response.

Countermeasures: This kind of failure can only be prevented but not eradicated, try not to let many programs run together, and prevent users from installing and using some software from unknown sources.

4. Downtime caused by memory module failure

Memory module defects refer to loose memory modules, virtual soldering, or damage or instability of the memory chip itself.

Solution: If there are two different standard memory inserted in the memory slot of the industrial computer, it is best to remove one, and using two different standard memory will cause downtime. If there are frequent outages such as illegal operations related to memory in the Windows operating system, or a direct prompt for a registry error and restart, first check whether the memory module is loose or dusty into the memory slot, if no abnormality is found, replace the memory module, and if it returns to normal, it is clear that there may be a problem with the memory module.

5. Too little remaining space on the hard disk or too many disk fragments lead to downtime

Because some large applications require a lot of memory to run, if the physical memory is insufficient, you need to use the virtual memory on the hard disk, and if the remaining space of the hard disk is too small, then it may cause downtime. In addition, if the industrial computer does not clean up the hard disk fragments for a long time, it will also make the system resources severe and shut down, of course, if there are too many junk files in the hard disk, it will also form the difficulty of the hard disk to find files and form a downtime phenomenon. The embodiment of this kind of fault is also relatively special, generally when the hard disk is read and write one after another, it will suddenly freeze or the blue screen will go down. Of course, the NTFS disk file pattern produces less disk fragmentation.

Solution: The system disk must use the NTFS disk file pattern, it is best to set the virtual memory to the partition with a large remaining space, and regularly clean up all kinds of junk files and disk fragments.

6. Failure of hard disk causes downtime

If the hard disk is severely aging or is vibrated during operation, or presents logical, physical bad sectors or bad sectors, then the industrial computer is very easy to have frequent downtime and failures during operation.

Countermeasures: First, replace the hard disk, if it is only a logical error, it can be corrected with correction software. Because some of these faults are not easy to find, a disk scan can be performed to rule out such faults.
