Eaton China Wins "2022 Corporate Green Development Contribution Award" from Shanghai Daily

Eaton (NYSE: ETN), an intelligent power management company, has been awarded the Corporate Green Development Contribution Award in the 2022 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Leaders Awards by Shanghai Daily for its outstanding contributions to China's energy transition.

FAW Jiefang hydrogen energy heavy truck project

In the FAW Jiefang hydrogen energy heavy truck project, all the 100 hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks delivered by FAW Jiefang are matched with Eaton's new energy gearbox. Eaton transmissions are significantly more efficient at high speeds, and can provide more torque at start-up and low speeds, with the advantages of good matching, high reliability, high transmission efficiency, more stability and more energy saving. The delivery of this order marks a significant step forward in Eaton's drive for zero-carbon transportation.

Eaton's Shanghai Pudong Heqing plant microgrid project

The second project exemplifies Eaton's "Everything as a Grid" philosophy to advance the energy transition. Eaton's PV storage microgrid system at its Heqing plant in Pudong, Shanghai, includes 297KWp of photovoltaics, backup engine units, and 125kW/375kWh of energy storage, as well as Eaton Power Xpert Energy OptimizerTM, Eaton's smart microgrid control system, which can help the plant achieve energy savings and emission reductions while reducing load pressure. And through the optimized photovoltaic and storage coordination control algorithm, the system benefits (photovoltaic revenue and energy storage revenue) are maximized.

Guided by Eaton's 2030 sustainability goals, the company plans to invest at least $3 billion by 2030 in research and development of sustainable solutions to help achieve a carbon-neutral future. This award is a testament to the unremitting efforts of the Eaton China team to achieve this ambitious goal.
