Eaton AC contactor components:
1. Electromagnetic mechanism The electromagnetic mechanism is composed of a coil, a moving iron core (armature) and a static iron core, and its function is to convert electromagnetic energy into mechanical energy, and generate electromagnetic attraction to drive the contact action.
2. The contact system includes the main contact and the auxiliary contact. The main contacts are used to open and break the main circuit, usually three pairs of normally open contacts. The auxiliary contact is used to control the circuit and plays the role of electrical interlocking, so it is also called the interlocking contact, which is generally open and closed two pairs.
3. Arc extinguishing device Contactors with a capacity of more than 10A have arc extinguishing devices, and for small-capacity contactors, double fracture contact arc extinguishing, electrodynamic arc extinguishing, interphase arc plate arc isolation and clay arc extinguishing cover are often used. For large-capacity contactors, longitudinal seam arc extinguishing cover and grid arc extinguishing are used.
4. Other components include reaction springs, buffer springs, contact pressure springs, transmission mechanisms and shells.
Basic parameters of Eaton AC contactors:
1. Rated voltage refers to the rated working voltage of the main contact, which should be equal to the rated voltage of the load. A contactor often specifies several rated voltages, and lists the corresponding rated current or control power. Normally, the highest working voltage is the rated voltage. The commonly used rated voltage values are 220V, 380V, 660V, etc.
2. Rated current The current value of the contactor contact under rated operating conditions. In the control circuit of the 380V three-phase motor, the rated working current can be approximately equal to twice the control power.
The commonly used rated current levels are 5 A, 10A, 20A, 40A, 60A, 100A, 150A, 250A, 400A, 600A.
3. On-off capacity can be divided into *** large on-current and *** large breaking current. The large on-current refers to the high current value that will not cause the contact to be welded when the contact is closed; The large breaking current refers to the high current that can reliably extinguish the arc when the contact is opened.
Generally, the on-off capacity is 5-10 times of the rated current. Of course, this value is related to the voltage level of the interrupting circuit, the higher the voltage, the smaller the on-off capacity.
4. The action value can be divided into the suction voltage and the release voltage. The pick-up voltage refers to the small voltage when the contactor can be engaged when the voltage at both ends of the pick-up coil is slowly increased before the contactor is engaged.
The release voltage refers to the maximum voltage when the contactor is released after the contactor is engaged, and the voltage of the suction coil is slowly reduced. Generally, the pick-up voltage is not less than 85% of the rated voltage of the coil, and the release voltage is not higher than 70% of the rated voltage of the coil.
5. Rated voltage of suction coil When the contactor is working normally, the voltage value added on the suction coil. Generally, the voltage value and the number of turns of the coil, wire diameter and other data are marked on the wire package, not on the nameplate of the contactor shell, and should be paid attention to when using.
6. Operating frequency The contactor needs to consume 5-7 times more current than the rated current at the moment of suction, if the operating frequency is too high, the coil will be seriously heated, which directly affects the normal use of the contactor.
To this end, the allowable operation frequency of the contactor is specified, which is generally the largest value of the allowable number of operations per hour.
7. Lifespan includes electrical life and mechanical life. At present, the mechanical life of the contactor has reached more than 10 million times, and the electrical life is about 5%-20% of the mechanical life.
