In September 2022, the Zhangjiang Science Hall was opened with the holding of the Pudong branch of the 2022 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. In the metaverse super application scenario created at the same time, a booth equipped with two intelligent robotic arms and performing coffee latte art attracted everyone's attention. Ordering, making, and delivering, the coffee-making process that can normally only be done by baristas, was made by a cobot at the booth in just a few minutes. These two "magical" robotic arms are one of the products developed by Elite Robotics.

Like Hua Medicine, Elite Robotics is also located in the R&D Park adjacent to the Zhangjiang Science Hall. Due to the problems of safety, high precision and intelligence in the process of human-machine collaboration, the core technology of collaborative robots has been monopolized by foreign manufacturers for a long time. At the same time, the high price caused by the monopoly of foreign enterprises has seriously affected the automation process of China's industry, which has also prompted innovative companies like Elite Robotics to embark on the road of independent research and development to help realize the domestic substitution of core components of robots. "From the initial controller to the later servo motor, Elite Robot has independently mastered two core components." Wu Fei, vice president of Elite Robotics, told us in an interview.

In the process of business operation, in order to build a "moat", Elite Robot continues to expand its independent research and development capabilities, and at the same time, the situation of "being controlled by others" faced by China's manufacturing industry in some fields is also quietly changing.

In July 2021, Elite Robotics Shanghai R&D Center landed in Zhangjiang, the highland of Shanghai's robot industry, to further promote the R&D and iteration process of products. At that time, the nearby Zhangjiang Science Hall was in full swing under construction. Because they have the same science and technology innovation genes, the two gather in Zhangjiang Science City, laying the groundwork for the subsequent integration and development of the two sides.

Zhangjiang's lush "ecological rainforest" is bringing development opportunities to countless cutting-edge enterprises like Elite Robotics, creating unlimited development possibilities for them.

In fact, Elite Robot chose to settle in Zhangjiang, which has long been traced. In April 2021, Elite Robot received 200 million yuan in B1 round of financing, including Zhangjiang Science and Technology Investment, an investment-loan incubation platform of Zhangjiang Group, and the market response once again proved its huge development potential.

Wu Fei told us that the talent advantage is one of the main reasons why Elite Robot chose to settle in Zhangjiang. "Because of Zhangjiang's brand advantage, it is easier for enterprises to recruit the high-end R&D personnel they need. The R&D personnel we need basically require a master's or doctoral degree, and Shanghai and Zhangjiang have a 'siphon effect' in terms of talent gathering, and a large number of high-end talents are gathered here. Wu Fei added that the main purpose of placing the R&D center in Zhangjiang is to supplement the "blood" of the R&D team and enhance the R&D strength.

At present, Elite Robotics has more than 5,000 global service projects, covering 28 countries, and has a huge group of collaborative robot ecological partners in the world. It is worth mentioning that the company's latest platform-level CS series (Cobots Superior) collaborative robots, based on a new infrastructure, have broken the technical barriers of international competitors, and are one of the world's earliest second-generation collaborative robot manufacturers to develop and mass-produce them.

Today, the application scenarios of Elite robots have covered many fields such as auto parts, 3C electronics, metal processing, home appliances, new retail, medical treatment, etc., and coffee making robots are more common specific application scenarios in new retail. "We also hope to let everyone taste the coffee made by our robots in more office buildings and shopping malls in Zhangjiang as soon as possible." Wu Fei said bluntly.

In 2022, Elite Robotics will accelerate the pace of global layout. With the resumption of offline holding of well-known overseas international exhibitions, Elite Robot has gone to 25 countries in a year, and has appeared in major exhibitions in Germany, Italy, Portugal, Japan, Turkey, United States and other countries. At the same time, Elite Robot has also successively established branches in North America, Europe, Japan and other countries and regions to continuously expand overseas markets. Going overseas has become an important channel for Elite Robotics to expand its business and drive product innovation.

Collaborative robots belong to the new direction of the robot industry, with the application characteristics of pan-scenario and long-tail market. "In the future, more and more people in the industry will come here to participate in professional exhibitions or seminars, and we will settle next to the Zhangjiang Science Hall, which can be described as 'the first month near the water', and there will be more communication opportunities in the future." For this new neighbor, Wu Fei's words were also full of expectations.
