My relationship with STD began in 2018, which was the first outbreak of the cobot business in the Chinese market. The combination of cooperative robots and SLAM laser-guided AGV chassis has been explored in many European and American markets at that time, but it is still a relatively new choice in China. Composite robots are robots that integrate AGV mobile robots and industrial robots. In the industrial field, robotic arms mainly replace human arms to pick up and place items, while AGV mobile robots replace the walking function of human legs and feet to extend the running space of equipment. From a combination point of view, the composite robot is equivalent to using both hands and feet, combining the functions of two types of automation equipment into one.
If the composite robot is only regarded as a simple addition to the AGV car and the robotic arm, it will be one-sided. One of the biggest difficulties of the composite robot system consisting of AGV + robotic arm is technology. Cai Songlin, vice president of technology and product of Elite Robotics, said: The entire application of cooperative robots and AGVs not only requires developers to be proficient in two technologies. The difficulty that needs to be overcome is how to make the two devices cooperate with each other in a complete system state, work stably, and match different environmental perception solutions according to different scenarios. Generally, the application scenarios of composite robots are complex. In specific scenarios (such as semiconductor workshops and CNC workshops), it is not only necessary to complete the tasks of mobile handling and reclaiming, but also to be incorporated into the production line process and undertake specific types of processing operations (such as loading and unloading, visual inspection, materials). Therefore, composite robots have high requirements for the adaptability of the AGV automotive environment and the openness of the collaborative robotic arm.
Since last year, Elite and Stander have successfully landed on a number of composite robot projects, and the two sides have completed in-depth adaptation and cultivated a tacit understanding through the run-in of different application cases.
