Frequency conversion and energy saving are mainly used in the occasions where the demand is to communicate the speed change of the motor, change the driving mechanical characteristics and then reach the requirements of the production process, and is more used in fans and pumps. While the motor can only work at an additional speed, its drive machinery can only work at a certain additional speed.
1. Speed regulation of general motor:
By changing the input voltage and frequency of the three-phase asynchronous motor, its speed can be controlled. Generally, when the motor is at low speed, the temperature rise becomes larger due to the decrease in the power of the cooling fan, and the motor load should be reduced according to the frequency.
2. High-speed work can be carried out:
Generally, the frequency of the power supply is 50Hz, which is fixed. The output frequency of the inverter can reach up to 650Hz (EH600A series). The EH600H series can reach a maximum output frequency of 1500Hz.
General-purpose motors cannot achieve high speed only by improving the frequency, and the mechanical strength must also be considered. When the carrier frequency of the inverter is high at high speed, the inverter must be degraded.
3. Soft start and soft stop:
The acceleration and deceleration time of the inverter can be set arbitrarily between 0.1 and 6500.0 seconds. When working, the inverter needs to set an appropriate acceleration and deceleration time.
4. Fast and accurate start and stop:
The starting current is small, and the motor heats up small. The capacity determines the acceleration and deceleration time, and the capacity level of the motor and inverter should be improved, and the proportional relationship between the acceleration and deceleration time and the load should be adjusted.
5. Forward and reverse rotation can be easily completed:
Since the IGBT performs the steering switching, the loss of the original contactor disappears, and reliable interlocking work can be carried out. When used for lifts, it is necessary to use a motor with a hugging brake, and there should be a mechanical organization to maintain the steering when changing the steering.
6. Electric braking:
Because the mechanical energy can be converted into electrical energy in the inverter during deceleration, the motor will actively brake. DC braking is applied to the motor at zero speed, and the motor can be stopped quickly. The inverter has only 20% of the braking force. When braking force needs to be added, an external braking unit and braking resistor are required. Inverters with built-in braking units only need an external braking resistor.
7. Motor speed regulation in harsh environments:
Because three-phase asynchronous motors can be used, explosion-proof, submersible or specially shaped motors can be easily selected. The explosion-proof motor should be matched with the inverter for explosion-proof test identification. The general-purpose inverters produced by our company are not explosion-proof.
8. One inverter can regulate the speed of multiple motors:
The inverter can adjust the speed of multiple motors together. The additional current of the inverter should be greater than 1.1 times of the total current of the motor. At the same frequency, the speed will be different due to the different characteristics and loads of the asynchronous motor. Together, each motor should be heated with an overload relay to protect the motor.
9. The power supply capacity of the motor should not be too large:
Unlike the power frequency power supply, which has a large starting current (5-6 times the additional current of the motor), the maximum additional current of the motor is not more than 100-150% when the variable frequency power supply is started.
