1. The appearance is different

Because it is used for industrial control, it will face a variety of harsh environments. For example: industrial dust, electromagnetic interference, vibration, etc. In order to prevent electromagnetic interference, the chassis of the industrial computer is made of all-steel industrial chassis that meets the "EIA" standard, which enhances the anti-electromagnetic interference ability. In order to prevent dust, the chassis generally adopts positive pressure convection exhaust, two fans are installed, and a dust filter is installed at the air outlet. In order to resist vibration, the industrial computer adopts bus structure and modular design.
2. The structure is different
(1) Computer structure
The computer uses the CPU, memory, disk, and graphics card to be installed directly on the motherboard. Communication between individual components is more efficient. At the same time, in order to better meet the needs of entertainment and office, the performance of computer configuration is generally relatively high.
(2) Industrial computer structure
The industrial computer adopts bus structure and modular design. It has a passive motherboard, and all the components are modular motherboards. The CPU motherboard must be plugged into a dedicated slot on the passive motherboard. Other modular expansion boards are plugged into the expansion slots of the passive motherboard. The resistors, capacitors, and inductors on each module are designed to be more resistant to interference. In this way, external interference can be better shielded, and the operation will be more stable.
3. Scalability is different
(1) Computer scalability
The expandability of the computer depends on the ports reserved by the motherboard, generally at most 2-4 memory slots, 2-5 hard disk interfaces, and 2-4 PCIE slots. This scalability is basically suitable for desktop entertainment and office use.
(2) Expandability of industrial computer
Industrial computers are completely different, and industrial control requires a variety of interfaces. Therefore, there are many slots on the passive motherboard of the industrial computer, and up to 20 boards can be expanded. These boards can be used to receive industrial control signals. A variety of industrial control protocols can be transmitted.
4. The software environment is different
(1) Computer software environment
Computers are basically equipped with the latest Windows operating system, of course, Apple computers are generally equipped with Mac OS. The software basically comes standard with office suites, video, social networking, games and other software. Operating system optimization is basically aimed at front-end programs.
(2) IPC software environment
Most of the industrial computers are also equipped with Windows operating system, but in order to adapt to industrial control software, they are often equipped with relatively old Windows, such as: Windows XP. Therefore, when Windows XP is exposed to vulnerabilities, these industrial computers are a large group. In terms of software, because it is dedicated to the field of industrial control, it is a special industrial control software for installation.
