On September 2, 2022, Advantech, a global IoT vendor, and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huawei") reached a strategic cooperation agreement on the research and development of AI platforms and the development of intelligent systems for industrial Internet of Things. The two parties will expand the scope of cooperation, deepen the cooperation, devote themselves to the intelligent transformation of AI industry applications, and jointly promote the intelligent solution of industrial IoT based on Ascend AI.

The signing of this agreement coincides with the 2022 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) held at the Shanghai World Expo Center. With the theme of "Intelligently Connected World, Metaverse Unbounded", the conference held a number of forums, including the Ascend AI Ecosystem Conference, to explore the ways in which AI can accelerate the empowerment of thousands of industries.

Yongcheng Chen, Deputy General Manager of Advantech (China) IIoT Business Group, attended the Ascend AI Ecosystem Conference and had an in-depth exchange with Kun Lu, General Manager of Intelligent Edge Solutions for Ascend Computing Business, on AI platform R&D and cooperation in the field of IIoT intelligent systems. After the meeting, Advantech and Huawei officially signed a cooperation agreement on intelligent systems based on Ascend AI.

According to the agreement, Advantech will become an important participant and co-builder of the Ascend AI ecosystem, and will work with Huawei to leverage Advantech's advantages in the IIoT industry for many years based on the Ascend AI basic software and hardware platform, and jointly build competitive IIoT intelligent solutions and jointly prosper the Ascend AI ecosystem.

Developments in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sector are enabling a new wave of change with the help of artificial intelligence. Advantech has been deeply involved in the industrial IoT and smart city industries for nearly 40 years, and has taken the initiative to take responsibility for the transformation of the IoT industry, proposing IoT software and hardware solutions with edge intelligence and industrial cloud platforms as the core to help customers and partners connect with the industry chain.
