(1) ITO Glass: A piece of glass or plexiglass is used as the substrate, and the surface is coated with a transparent conductive layer.
(2) ITO polyester plastic layer (ITO Film): The surface is hardened to make the surface smooth and scratch-resistant, and the inner surface is also coated with a transparent conductive layer to cover the surface of the ITO glass substrate. Between the above two conductive layers, there are many very small transparent insulation points, so that the two conductive layers are insulated and separated, so that they will not touch each other and cause malfunction.
When a touch action occurs, a proper pressure is generated when touching with a finger or other substance to make the two conductive layers in the insulated state contact each other at the pressure point, and when this contact point is detected by the controller of the resistive touch panel, one conductive layer conducts a uniform voltage field in the X-axis direction (+5V is generally used in design, but +12V or +3V is used), and the other conductive layer transmits the voltage of the contact point to the controller for analog/digital signal conversionAfter obtaining the correct voltage value, the X-axis coordinate value of the contact point is obtained by comparing it with the above-mentioned uniform voltage field, and the Y-axis coordinate value is obtained in the same way. After obtaining and confirming the X and Y coordinate values, the touch panel starts to operate.
The working mode of the five-wire resistor is to use the conductive layer of ITO Glass to be responsible for the X-axis (horizontal) and Y-axis (vertical) at the same time, and print a conductive line on the left and right sides and the upper and lower edges of ITO Glass, and add a set voltage to one end of the X-(Y) axis conductive line, (generally +5V), and the other end is 0V (zero volt), so that the X(Y) plane forms a uniform voltage distribution on the entire working surface, and the ITO Film is only used as a conductor to read the voltage value of the contact point. Through the controller degree (analog-to-digital conversion), the coordinate values of the X and Y axes are obtained.
The production process of the five-wire resistor is extremely precise, and the coating layer of ITO Glass must be very uniform, otherwise it is easy to cause uneven voltage distribution on the working surface, which will make the interpretation of the touch point incorrect, or even cause the touch panel to be unable to operate.
