An industrial robot is an automatic, position-controlled, programmable multi-functional manipulator that can handle a variety of materials, parts, things, and special devices with the help of corrective program operations to fulfill various tasks. According to its different uses, it is divided into the following categories:

                               How Industrial Robots Are Classified by Use – Epson

1. Manually operate the robot. is a multi-degree-of-freedom device operated by an operator.

2. Fixed order robots. It is difficult to correct the order of performance of equipment that fulfills its mission according to the predetermined and unchanging method according to the process.

3. Variable order robots. Similar to the second category, but the order could be amended.

4. Teach-in reproduction (playback) robot. The operator guides the robot to perform the task manually, records these actions, and then the robot repeats them, which simply means that the robot performs the same action repeatedly according to the recorded information.

5. CNC robots. The operator feeds the robot with the motion program, eliminating the need for manual teach-in to perform the mission.

6. Intelligent robots. These robots have the ability to perceive the external environment and successfully complete the work even if the work environment changes.
