Because the optical encoder is coaxially installed with the motor, the transcription of the optical encoder is the speed of the motor.

1. Software and hardware equipment

(1) One set of GX DEVELOPER V8.86;

(2) 1 FX2N-32MT PLC;

(3) 1 optical encoder (1024 lines);

(4) 1 programming cable.

【Key point】The output pulse signal of the optical encoder is +5V and +24V (maybe 18V), and the effective signal of the input terminal of FX2N is 0V (when NPN connection), it is best not to choose the +5V output optical encoder when selecting the optical encoder. It is also important that the encoder is an NPN type output, so it is important to pay attention to when selecting the encoder. In addition, the 0V terminal of the encoder should be shorted to the COM of the PLC. Otherwise, it cannot form a loop.

So if there is only a +5V output, can the optical encoder be directly used for the above loop measurement speed? The answer is no, but it is feasible to boost the voltage through the transistor, and the specific solution is for the readers to think for themselves.

2. Instruction description

In the Mitsubishi FX series PLC, there is a command SPD that is used to measure the number of pulses per unit of time, which is very convenient. Pulse Velocity Detection Command (SPD)

An example is used to illustrate the use of the Pulse Velocity Detection Command (SPD), as shown in the figure below, when X1 is closed, D1 counts the action of X0 from OFF to ON, and after 100 ms, the result is stored in D0. D1 is then reset and X0 is counted again, and D2 is used to measure the remaining time. Note: The inputs X0-X5 specified here cannot be reused with high-speed counters and abort inputs.
