The advantages of closed busbars over open busbars are:

1) Closing the bus duct can reduce the grounding fault, avoid the short circuit between phases, basically eliminate the grounding defect caused by external moisture, dust and foreign objects, and improve the continuity of generator operation.

2) Eliminate the heating of the surrounding steel structure. The exposed high-current bus bar causes the surrounding steel structure and steel bars to produce eddy current and hysteresis loss under electromagnetic induction, and the heating temperature is high, the loss is large, and the strength of the structure will be generated. Closing the busbar and selecting shell shielding can fundamentally deal with the induction heating of the steel structure.

3) Greatly reduce the electrodynamic force of phase-to-phase short circuit. When there is an interphase short circuit outside the area, and a large short circuit current flows through the bus, the short-circuit electrical force of the interphase conductor is greatly reduced because of the shielding effect of the shell.

4) After the bus is closed, the micro positive pressure device is selected to prevent the condensation of the insulator, improve the safety and reliability of operation, and create conditions for the bus to choose the forced ventilation cooling method.

5) The operation and maintenance workload of the busbar is small, and the structure is simple.
