A differential pressure sensor is a sensor used to measure the difference between two pressures, usually used to measure the pressure difference between the front and rear ends of a device or component.
A typical application of differential pressure sensors is to measure the difference in exhaust pressure between the front and rear channels of the exhaust particulate trap of a passenger car engine. In addition, differential pressure sensors can also be used to measure gas flow, liquid level bumps, etc.
The method of measuring gas flow, through the difference between the pressure of the flow tube and the atmospheric pressure, obtains the static pressure of the flow tube, and the square root of the static pressure is proportional to the flow rate, and then the flow rate is obtained.
The liquid level concave and convex measurement method measures the pressure difference value of the concave and convex liquid level, and then converts the liquid level height according to the liquid density.
There are some things that need to be paid attention to in the use of differential pressure sensors, such as: the measured medium is not allowed to freeze, otherwise it will damage the barrier diaphragm of the sensor element and cause damage to the transmitter, and if necessary, the transmitter needs to be temperature protected to prevent freezing; Do not use a voltage higher than 36V to the transmitter, resulting in damage to the transmitter;
When measuring steam or other high-temperature media, its temperature should not exceed the limit temperature of the transmitter, and it is necessary to use a heat dissipation device higher than the limit temperature of the transmitter; When measuring steam or other high-temperature media, heat pipes should be used to connect the transmitter and pipes together, and the pressure on the pipes should be transmitted to the transformer.
When the measured medium is water vapor, an appropriate amount of water should be injected into the heat pipe to prevent the overheated steam from directly touching the transmitter and damaging the sensor. Do not touch the diaphragm with a hard object, which may cause damage to the barrier diaphragm, etc.
There are not many unique differential pressure sensors that can measure both absolute pressure and differential pressure, which is convenient for customers to use. I believe that in the future, there will be no independent differential pressure sensor, and the differential pressure sensor is merging with the absolute pressure sensor.

Precautions for measuring hydrogen with pressure transmitters – ifm
Hydrogen is a colorless and odorless gas, with a density of 0.09 g/L (the lightest gas) under standard conditions, and is poorly soluble in water. At -252 °C, it becomes a colorless liquid, and at -259 °C, it becomes a snowflake-like solid.
When measuring hydrogen, pay attention to:

Diffuse photoelectric sensor target impact
1. The larger the object, the more light is reflected and the farther the sensing interval is.
2. For visible red light sensors, light colors can be detected at a greater scale than dark colors. The color of the target object has a much smaller effect on the infrared light sensor. Compared to a flat or matte appearance, a highly reflective ...

Select the appropriate mounting holes for ifm sensors
ifm sensors have a lot of precautions at the time of installation, and it is necessary to pay attention to the orientation of the device, if the device orientation is not suitable, it will also form damage to the pressure sensor.
ifm sensors are required to be checked at the time and time of the device.

Common faults in ifm encoders
1. Encoder own problem: It refers to the problem of the encoder's own components, resulting in its inability to generate and output correct waveforms. In this case, the encoder needs to be replaced or its internal components repaired.
2. Encoder connection cable problem: the probability of this problem is high, and the maintenance is under repair.

The difference between the ifm proximity switch PNP and NPN
There are two kinds of proximity switches: NPN output type (current inflow) and PNP output type (current outflow), when the current outflow sensor (PNP output type) is turned on, the current flows from the power supply to the load through the output terminal of the sensor, enters the load, and then flows to the connection.
