Normal conditions of operation, installation, and transportation
1 Normal operating conditions
Appliances that meet the rules of this code should be able to operate under the following conditions.
Note: See Appendix B for the requirements of non-standard application conditions.
The non-standard application conditions can be confirmed according to the agreement between the manufacturer and the user.
1.1 Ambient air temperature
The ambient air temperature does not exceed +40°C, and its average temperature value over a 24-hour period does not exceed +35°C.
The lower limit of ambient air temperature is -5°C.
For appliances that do not have an enclosure, the ambient air temperature refers to the temperature of the air that is present around them. For appliances with enclosures, the ambient air temperature refers to the air temperature around the enclosure.
Note: 1 For electrical appliances used in ambient air temperatures higher than +40°C (e.g., in forging shops, boiler rooms, tropical countries) or below -5°C (e.g., -25°C, this requirement is proposed in accordance with GB 7251.1 for low-voltage switchgear control equipment used in the field), should be planned and operated in accordance with the relevant product specifications (if applicable) or according to the agreement between the manufacturer and the user. The data given in the sample of the manufacturing plant can be used as a substitute for the above protocol.
2 The relevant product specifications should specify the specifications for certain types of electrical appliances (e.g., circuit breakers or overload relays for starters), refer to air temperature.
1.2 Altitude
The altitude of the installation site does not exceed 2 000 m.
Note: For electrical appliances used at altitudes above 2 000 m, the air cooling effect and the decrease in dielectric strength need to be taken into account. for electricity used to operate under the above conditions
Equipment should be planned or operated according to the agreement between the manufacturer and the user.
1.3 Atmospheric conditions
1.3.1 Humidity
The relative humidity of the air does not exceed 50% at a maximum temperature of +40°C, and can be higher at lower temperatures, such as 90% at 20°C. Special measures should be taken for condensation that occurs occasionally due to temperature changes.
1.3.2 Pollution level
The pollution level (2.5.58) is related to the environmental conditions in which the appliance is used.
Note: The micro-environment of the electrical void or creepage interval confirms the effect on the insulation of the appliance, not the environmental confirmation of the appliance. Electrical void or creepage distance
The microscopic environment may be better or worse than that of an electrical appliance. The microscopic environment includes all the factors that affect insulation, such as: climatic conditions, electromagnetic conditions,
the occurrence of pollution, etc.
For electrical appliances used in the shell or appliances with the shell, the pollution level can be selected as the environmental pollution level in the shell.
In order to facilitate the identification of electrical voids and creepage intervals, the microenvironment can be divided into four pollution levels (see Table 13 and Table 15 for electrical voids and creepage intervals of different pollution levels).
Pollution Level 1:
No contamination or only dry non-conductive contamination.
Pollution Level 2:
In general, only non-conductive contamination is the case, but it is necessary to take into account the conductivity of the occasional condensation due to the short condensation formation time.
Pollution Level 3:
There is conductive contamination, or because condensation makes dry non-conductive contamination conductive.
Pollution Level 4:
Formation of persistent conductive contamination, e.g. due to conductive dust or rain or snow.
Regulated Pollution Levels for Industrial Appliances:
Unless there are other relevant product specifications and regulations, industrial appliances are generally suitable for use in pollution class 3 environments. However, other pollution levels may be considered for particular use and micro-environments.
Note: The level of contamination in the microenvironment of the appliance may be affected by the enclosure device method.
Regulated Pollution Levels for Household and Similar Appliances:
Unless otherwise specified in the relevant product specifications, household and similar electrical appliances are generally used in pollution level 2 environments.
1.4 Shock and Vibration
Acceptable code shock and vibration conditions for electrical appliances are being considered.
2 Conditions of transport and storage
If the conditions for the delivery and storage of electrical appliances, such as temperature and humidity, differ from those specified in 1, the manufacturer and the user shall enter into a special agreement. Unless otherwise specified, the following temperature ranges are suitable for transport and storage: between 25°C and +55°C, and for a short period of time (within 24 hours) up to +70°C.
Appliances that are not operated at the extreme temperature should not be subject to irreversible damage, and the appliance should be able to operate normally according to the rules after being placed under normal conditions.
3 Installations
Electrical appliances should be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
